Methods of seismic data processing employ neural networks and use a reflectivity image based on the acquired seismic data to generate output training datasets. The neural networks thus trained are used for generating production datasets, without ghosts, source effects, multiples and/or populating a predetermined set of bins in inline-crossline plane for a set of offset classes.

System and method for generating dithering sequences for seismic exploration

A method for using an offset vector tile gather to image a subsurface defines an offset vector tile gather by selecting a plurality of seismic traces from recorded seismic data. Each seismic trace in the offset vector tile includes reflections from subsurface reflectors and reflection points at depths below the surface of the subsurface. Each reflection point is in a given seismic trace, and each given seismic trace extends from a seismic source to a seismic receiver. The reflection points define an offset vector tile having a source line span and a receiver line span. The source line span is equal to or greater than a distance between adjacent seismic receiver lines, and the receiver line span is less than a distance between adjacent seismic source lines. The offset vector tile gather is used to produce a three dimensional image of the subsurface.

Using an offset vector tile gather to image a subsurface

Device and method for smoothing an original velocity model of a given subsurface such that a travel-time through the given subsurface is preserved. The method includes receiving the original velocity model, wherein the original velocity model has a set of model parameters that determine a given parameterization and the original velocity model has velocity discontinuities at various depths; selecting a sub-set of model parameters of the given parameterization; converting the selected sub-set of model parameters to composite parameters; smoothing with a processor the composite parameters by applying a convolutional filter (g) such that velocity moments are preserved at the velocity discontinuities; and generating a smooth velocity model by converting the smoothed composite parameters into a smoothed sub-set of model parameters.

Preserved-traveltime smoothing method and device

Method for solving the classical inversion problem of finding the angle dependent reflection coefficients along selected reflectors in the subsurface. The input data to the method include seismic constant offset or constant angle data cubes from Pre-Stack Depth Migration of Kirchhoff type and the corresponding reflectors and velocities from the interpretation and velocity analysis of the data. One or more of the reflectors are chosen and ray modeling is done to create synthetic seismics for all shot/receiver pairs in the seismic survey. Based on these modeling results, amplitude correction maps are made for the various reflection angles. These correction maps are applied to the amplitudes from the seismic data. The corrected amplitudes are approximations to the angle-dependent reflection coefficients in all points on each selected reflector. For each point, a weight function is computed, giving the quantitative resolution of the estimate of the reflection coefficient.
