Method and apparatus for reducing the friction coefficient of roll

A method and device for winding a material web, such as a paper web, onto a spool or equivalent through a winding nip formed between a cylinder, roll or equivalent and the roll that is being formed. The transfer of air taking place through the winding nip along with the material web to be wound is retarded and/or prevented by forming a positive pressure in the wedge-shaped area placed after the winding nip.

Method and device for winding a material web

A drum winder and method for winding a web in a drum winder, in which winding drums support a roll that is being formed and a cutter device cuts the web before a new winding is started on an empty roll spool. The cutter device has a cutter blade, an actuator, and a power transmission system operatively coupled to the cutter blade of the cutter device so that the movement of the actuator is transferable by the power transmission arrangement to the cutter blade. The cutter blade is movable along a curved path of movement so that the position of the cutter blade in its lower position is substantially more distant from one of the winding drums than it is in its upper position. On the blade beam of the cutter blade, seal units are arranged to seal the winding drums from below. The gap between the winding drums is sealed from above by an upper end-seal unit, whereby the gap between the winding drums can be pressurized. On the blade beam of the cutter blade, a sealing doctor blade may be arranged. The blade beam is provided with an end seal.

Drum winder and method for drum winding a web

A method for drum winding a web and a drum winder in which a roll that is being formed, i.e., onto which a web is being wound, is supported on winding drums. At least a part of the area that surrounds the roll being formed is subjected to a pressure lower than the pressure that prevails in a gap formed by the roll being formed and the winding drums, whereby a floating effect is produced on the roll being formed. The drum winder is preferably placed in a vacuum chamber.

A drum winder and method for winding a web, including winding drums for supporting a roll that is being formed and a pressurized gap formed by the winding drums and the roll being formed. The cutter well or a part of same has been formed as a sealed pressure chamber and is coupled to the gap in order to pressurize the gap.

Drum winder and method for winding a web

Method and device for the reeling of a web. The web is reeled by supporting an outer circumference of the roll being formed with at least two supporting units. A first such unit in a direction of arrival of the web is a carrier roll provided with a mechanical rotating drive over which the web is passed to reeling. The carrier roll forms a reeling nip supporting the roll from below. A press roll is situated above the roll being formed so that the roll being wound is stably maintained in reeling position. The roll is wound about a core in a nip support between the carrier roll, a belt roll, and the upper press roll. When the roll is wound and increased, the reeling continues the nip support by the carrier roll and the upper press roll, and additionally, on a belt supporting zone situated as a direct extension of the support zone of the belt roll. The final stages of the reeling are carried out up to a full roll by extending the belt support zone and, at the same time, by adjusting tensioning of the supporting belt or belts so that the linear loads in the various supporting nips of the roll remain within suitable limits in view of progress of reeling and of quality of the roll so being wound.
