Various example embodiments relate to providing audio or haptic feedback to a user. An apparatus may comprise: detection circuitry coupled to a first coil, wherein the detection circuitry is configured to detect a user input on a surface based on a triggering signal comprising voltage or current induced at the first coil by displacement of the surface by a user. The apparatus may further comprise feedback circuitry coupled to a second coil, wherein the feedback circuitry is configured to activate a feedback signal in response to detection of the user input by the detection circuitry, and wherein the second coil is configured to cause or alter movement of the surface based on a magnetic field configured to be generated by the second coil upon activation of the feedback signal. Apparatuses, methods, and computer programs are disclosed.

Surface audio device with haptic or audio feedback

Acoustic transducer comprises an upper part () and a lower part (), with a first permanent magnet () in the upper part () and a second permanent magnet () in the lower part (). Similarly named magnetic poles of the first and second permanent magnets () face each other. An upper cover () in the upper part () and a lower cover () in the lower part () comprise magnetic material and define an enclosure around the magnets (). A coil () creates, under influence of an electric current, dynamic magnetic forces. A separating gap () between edges of said upper cover () and lower cover () is directed so that it allows a relative movement of the edges of said lower cover () and said upper cover () between different positions, said positions differing in the extent to which edges coincide.

Acoustic transducer with balanced properties

An arrangement for generating vibration according to an electrical input signal includes a first permanent magnet arrangement including a first permanent magnet, a frame including magnetic material, a second permanent magnet configured to be arranged between the first permanent magnet and the frame and to be coupled with the frame, one or more portion of the frame extending at least in one direction over an edge area of the second permanent magnet. The second permanent magnet is further configured to face, at a distance, the first permanent magnet such that a magnetic interaction between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet causes a first force to a surface of an apparatus, wherein the frame is configured to be magnetized by the second permanent magnet in order to cause magnetic interaction between the one or more portion of the frame and the first permanent magnet arrangement in order to cause a second force to the surface having an opposite direction compared with the first force.

Transducer arrangement

An apparatus includes a surface arranged to be mechanically displaced, a first magnet coupled with the surface, at least one supporting member for supporting the surface, a base comprising a second magnet, wherein the second magnet is arranged, at least partially, to face the first magnet, a coil coupled with the second magnet, and a signal port electrically coupled with the coil. An electrical signal is configured to travel between the signal port and the coil, and the electrical signal in the coil is proportional to mechanic displacement of the surface when a force equilibrium state of the surface is broken either by the electrical signal in the coil or the mechanic displacement of the surface from a position of the force equilibrium state.

Apparatus with surface to be displaced

An apparatus comprising: a first part configured to form at least part of the case of the apparatus; a second part configured to form at least part of the display for the apparatus; a flexible membrane configured to couple at a first area of contact the first part and at a second area of contact the second part; and an actuator coupled to the second part and configured to apply a force to the second part to generate a substantially translational displacement of the second part.

Apparatus and method for providing haptic and audio feedback in a touch sensitive user interface

An apparatus comprising: a first part configured to form at least part of the case of the apparatus; a second part configured to form at least part of the display for the apparatus; a coupling configured to couple the first part to the second part; and at least one actuator coupled to the second part and configured to apply a force to the second part to generate a displacement of the second part relative to the first part suitable for generating an audio signal.

Display apparatus

An apparatus includes a surface arranged to be mechanically displaced, first permanent magnet coupled with the surface, at least one supporting member for supporting the surface, base, second permanent magnet, coil coupled with the second magnet, and signal port electrically coupled with the coil. An electrical signal is configured to travel between the signal port and the coil. The electrical signal in the coil is proportional to mechanic displacement of the surface when a force equilibrium state of the surface is broken by the electrical signal in the coil or the mechanic displacement of the surface from a position of the force equilibrium state. The coil is arranged at least partially between the first magnet and the second magnet or around one of the first magnet, the second magnet. Either the same or different polarities of the first and second magnets are arranged to directly face each other at a distance.

An apparatus comprising; a first part configured to form at least part of the case of the apparatus; a second part configured to form at least part of the display for the apparatus; at least one actuator coupled to the second part and configured to apply a force to the second part to generate a displacement of the second part; drive circuitry coupled to the at least one actuator and configured to drive the actuator to produce both audio and haptic outputs; and a suspender configured to couple the first part and the second part.
