An augmented reality device and method for product purchase facilitation using an augmented reality device are provided. The device includes a display module configured to provide augmented reality visual content, the augmented reality visual content including a virtual image of a product, a biometric authentication module configured to receive biometric data relating to a user and authenticate the user based on the received biometric data, and a transceiver module configured to receive, from a user device, digital payment credentials for facilitating purchase of the product, and transmit the digital payment credentials to a payment processing module for product purchase upon successful authentication of the user.

System and method for facilitating a combined purchase of online products and in-store products. The system comprising a payment processor module that is configured to: (i) receive data corresponding to: (a) a total price of one or more in-store products to be purchased at a physical store; (b) a total price of one or more online products to be purchased using an e-commerce platform; and (c) a combined payment amount for the in-store and the online products made by a purchaser of the in-store and the online products during a check-out procedure; and (ii) generate a product release message on a condition that the combined payment amount corresponds with the total price of the in-store products and the total price of the online products.

A method for vehicle speeding self-detection and payment of an associated fine, the method including: a) in an on-board processing device, determining a speed indication indicative of the speed of the vehicle operated by a user; b) determining a speed limit indication indicative of a speed limit associated with a location of the vehicle with respect to a road network; c) determining if the speed of the vehicle exceeds the speed limit using the speed indication and the speed limit indication; d) in response to determining that the speed limit has been exceeded, determining a payment amount indicative of a discounted fine for exceeding the speed limit; and, e) causing the payment amount to be paid from an account of the user.
