A window with an outer frame for mounting in a window opening in a structure this outer frame having on the sides thereof sash tracks or channels facing one another across the window space. Window sashes containing a single window pane are positioned between and securable in such channels in a manner allowing them to be slid therealong for opening and closing the window. Protuberances extending from the window frame secure the window sashes in the channels so as to allow sliding therealong, and removing such window sashes from those channels is accomplished by removing the protuberances therefrom. A blocking panel is positionable in the outer frame in the absence of such window sashes, and can be removed therefrom in the absence of such sashes but not when the sashes are present. A relatively rigid tube structure that can be formed in a coarse mesh is provided for affixing to the panel frame in the blocking panel as is a finer mesh screen structure to thereby provide security against entrance through the window space.

Secure divided window

A door or other structural panel of the type which has a pair of opposed, congruent sheets spaced apart by a frame to define a separation space between the sheets which may be filled with a core, such as foam. The edge of each sheet has a zig-zag portion which defines a ledge on the outer side of the sheet and a ridge on the inner side of the sheet. The frame member between the sheets at each edge has on each of two sides a projecting flange and a projecting hook which interlock with the zig-zag portion of the sheets to create a mechanical engagement between the sheets and the frame member. The flow of liquid foam into the separation space is controlled by a rib projecting inwardly from the sheet and by a resilient foam block slightly compressed between the sheets. Methods of manufacturing such panels are provided, including by sliding the beams onto the sheet edges and tapping the beams into a rigid state, and by employing temporary frame members which can be removed and re-used after the foam hardens.

Structural panel

A structure for limiting access, such as a storm door, having first and second polymer shells with at least one them having side shell portions extending at an angle from a major shell portion with these side shell portions adjoining the other shell, there being a first distribution of magnetic particles positioned between a polymer backing and both the first and second shells. The backing can be fused to the shells to provide a single unit outer structure with the magnetic particle distribution being substantially in the fused portion. These magnetic particles extend in the fused portion around substantially the entirety of a major shell portion. The space between the two shells in that situation can have elongated members enclosed therein which are not fastened to one another by anything extending into such members, and the remainder of this space may be filled with an expanded polymer foam. Another distribution of a different kind of magnetic particles may be positioned at a surface of a major portion of one of the shells.
