A head suitable to be supported by a tripod or a monopod includes a rotatable ball contained within a body defining a socket where the rotatable ball includes a shaft extending therefrom suitable to attach to a retainment structure to support a device thereon. A first movable member selectively increases and decreases the ability of the ball to freely rotate. A terminal end of the shaft includes a retainment structure that includes at least four angularly arranged 'V' shaped members protruding from the terminal end, where each of the “V” shaped members extends over 90 percent of the distance from a central opening defined by the shaft and an exterior peripheral surface defined by the shaft.

A support facility for a binocular has a base, the base including a tripod connection facility, a flexible strap having a first strap end connected to the base, and an opposed second strap end, a tensioner connected to the base and to the second strap end, the flexible strap, the base, and the tensioner defining an opening configured to receive a first barrel of the binocular, and the flexible strap including a length adjustment facility adjustable over a range of length adjustment positions. The length adjustment facility may be configured to provide a selected strap length based on the diameter of the first barrel. The tensioner may be configured to operate between a released position in which the length adjustment facility is removable from or movable along the flexible strap and an engaged position in which the support facility is engaged to the first barrel.

A substantially compressible member is operably interconnected between the movable member and the first side wall. A pin is selectively raisable with respect to one of the surfaces within a peripheral area defined by the one of the surfaces.
