A system and method of setting up a multi-user communication session over a global computer network are provided. The method includes first sending a session participation request message from a first user to a second user, where the session participation request message includes the first user's QoS requirements for the session. The second user then sends a negotiating message to the first user in response to receiving the session participation request message, where the negotiation message includes the second user's QoS requirements for the session responsive to the first user's QoS requirements. The resource availability in access networks of the first and second users according to the second user's QoS requirements is determined, and resources in the respective access networks of the first and second users are then reserved in response to resources being available to achieve the second user's QoS requirements. The first user thereafter sends an acknowledgement message to the second user in response to receiving the negotiating message to indicate the completion of QoS provisioning.

System and method for broadband multi-user communication sessions

The present invention provides a system that includes a plurality of cache engines coupled to a computer network such as the Internet, and a cache memory associated with each of the plurality of cache engines. The cache memory is allocated to store information of a plurality of users participating in an online communication session. Each user is allocated a normal section and an exception section in the cache memory, the normal section storing predictable behavior of the user and the exception section storing unpredictable behavior of the user. All users' session environment is updated by sending information on whether a specific user's behavior is predictable or unpredictable and by retrieving the appropriate user behavior from the normal or exceptions sections in the local cache memory.

An improved object-oriented transaction computing system is disclosed. The system allows for the compiling, linking, and managing of one or more objects, classes, and/or method libraries through the set-up, managing, and termination of corresponding internal or external procedural call modules. The objects in the system interface with one another using a message pointer interface including one or more message interface ports that correspond with the internal or external procedural calls. The system also includes a transaction controller for allocating one or more time units for a designated transaction corresponding with the one or more objects, classes, methods, and/or messages. As a result, encrypted analog signal sequence becomes totally destructed to unauthorized receivers. An authorized receiver measuring incoming analog signal according to said digital representation or said computation instruction, locating identification signals within said incoming signal sequence through satisfying said digital representation; decryption through deleting all said identification signals and reconstructing said incoming analog signal to its original form.
