A cyclone separator formed by a plurality of parallel tubes. A portion of the tubes form a cylinder, a portion are bent radially inwardly to form a roof and a portion are bent to form a hopper. Water is passed through tubes to cool the separator.

An expansion seal assembly in which a corrugated plate extends between two members that are subjected to differential thermal expansion and contraction. An expansion joint connects the upper and lower edges of the corrugated plate with the two members respectively to accommodate differential thermal expansion and contraction between two members in an axial direction. The expansion joint acts as hinges to accommodate the lateral movement.

Expansion seal assembly

A cyclone separator in which a pair of tubular members are disposed in a coaxially spaced relationship to define an annular chamber for receiving gases having solid particles entrained therein. The gases and particles swirl around in the annular chamber to separate the particles from the gases by centrifugal forces. The particles are collected in a hopper and the gases pass upwardly through the separator to external equipment. An enclosure extends around the outer tubular member and is formed by a plurality of parallel water wall tubes for circulating water around the annular chamber to reduce heat losses and minimize the requirements for internal insulation.

Water-cooled cyclone separator

A tube and support system for a heat exchanger in which a first and second series of spaced tubes extend from opposite sides of a header. Each tube extends in a serpentine pattern, with the tubes of the first series being offset from the tubes of the second series. Each tube in one of the series is bent in a manner to extend in a same plane as the other series of tubes. A support member extends between the bent tube portions and the corresponding portions of the tubes of the other series.

A seal assembly for a vapor generator each wall of which has spaced lower and an upper portions to accommodate relative movement there between. The seal assembly includes a trough containing water and connected to one of the portions of each wall. A dip skirt extends into the trough and divides same into an inner chamber and outer chamber, and a partition extends from the dip skirt, across the space between the wall portions, and to the other wall portion to expose the water in the inner chamber to the boiler pressure and the water in the outer chamber to atmosphere. As a result, relative movement between the wall portions is accommodated by corresponding movement of the dip skirt in the water trough while maintaining an airtight seal.

Seal assembly for a vapor generator

A fluidized bed heat exchanger in which an air distributor plate assembly is disposed within an enclosure for supporting a bed of particulate material. The plate assembly includes a plurality of horizontal, spaced tubes through which water is passed to cool the assembly. Air is passed from an air plenum through openings formed in the plate assembly to fluidize the particulate material. Insulation is disposed on the lower surface of the plate assembly to insulate the latter from the heat of the fluidizing air, and the upper surface of the plate assembly is insulated from the high temperatures occurring in the bed.
