A method for determining a condition of a second component of an engine is disclosed wherein the engine includes at least a first component and the second component. The method includes determining a concentration value of a chemical species in an effluent obtained from washing at least a portion of the first component of the engine, inputting the concentration value of the chemical species in a condition assessment model to update the condition assessment model, and estimating the condition of the second component based on an output of the updated condition assessment model. The effluent used herein includes a wash fluid and the chemical species. The second component is different from the first component and the condition assessment model is a representative of a condition of the second component of the engine.

Methods for effluent based condition assessment

Systems and methods for blade health monitoring are provided. According to one embodiment of the disclosure, a system may include a feature extraction module and an anomaly detection module in communication with the extraction module. The feature extraction module may be configured to continuously receive blade passing signal data associated with clearance of a blade and pre-process the blade passing signal data. Blade clearance feature data may be extracted from the blade passing signal data prior to transmission to the anomaly detection module. The anomaly detection module may be configured to normalize the blade clearance feature data received from the extraction module, analyze the blade clearance feature data to detect a shift in the clearance of the blade, and determine an abnormality of the blade based on the shift exceeding a predetermined shift threshold.

Methods and systems for blade health monitoring

A system for monitoring health of a rotor is presented. The system includes a processing subsystem that generates a measurement matrix based upon a plurality of resonant-frequency first delta times of arrival vectors corresponding to a blade and a first sensing device, and a plurality of resonant-frequency second delta times of arrival vectors corresponding to the blade and a second sensing device, generates a resonant matrix based upon the measurement matrix such that entries in the resonant matrix are substantially linearly uncorrelated and linearly independent, and generates a resonance signal using a first subset of the entries of the resonant matrix, wherein the resonance signal substantially comprises common observations and components of the plurality of resonant-frequency first delta times of arrival vectors and the plurality of resonant-frequency second delta times of arrival vectors.
