Devices, systems, and methods for installing binding information after failures caused by transient errors

In some implementations, a network device may receive one or more indications of one or more internet protocol (IP) addresses. The network device may determine that the one or more IP addresses are associated with an IP over Ethernet (IPoE) subscriber. The network device may generate, based at least in part on determining that the one or more IP addresses are associated with the IPoE subscriber, a mapping of the one or more IP addresses to an identifier of the IPoE subscriber. The network device may receive a network packet associated with at least one IP address of the one or more IP addresses. The network device may perform, based at least in part on the mapping of the one or more IP addresses to the identifier of the IPoE subscriber, a network service associated with the network packet on a per-IPoE-subscriber basis.

Mapping internet protocol (IP) addresses to IP over ethernet subscriber identifiers

A network device may enable local breakout for a subscriber device, and may create, for the subscriber device, a primary path to a data network via a user plane function. The network device may create, for the subscriber device, a secondary path direct to the data network and based on the local breakout being enabled, and may determine whether a connection with the user plane function is available. The network device may selectively provide traffic between the subscriber device and the data network via the primary path based on determining that the connection with the user plane function is available, or may provide the traffic between the subscriber device and the data network via the secondary path based on determining that the connection with the user plane function is unavailable.

Local breakout for customer premise equipment in a 5G wireless wireline convergence at an access gateway function

In some implementations, a broadband network gateway (BNG) may receive, from a customer premises equipment, a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) discover request, wherein the BNG is connected to the customer premises equipment and a fixed mobile interworking function (FMIF). The BNG may communicate with, based on the DHCP discover request, the FMIF. The BNG may provide to the customer premises equipment, and based on communicating with the FMIF, a DHCP offer that offers utilization of the BNG as a DHCP server. The BNG may receive from the customer premises equipment, and based on providing the DHCP offer, a DHCP request to request utilization of the BNG as the DHCP server. The BNG may provide to the customer premises equipment, and based on the DHCP request, a DHCP acknowledgment that acknowledges utilization of the BNG as the DHCP server.

Broadband network gateway (BNG) as dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server

In some implementations, a first access gateway function (AGF) may receive, from a second AGF, a communication indicating at least one of a subscriber identity, session information, subscriber context, or session transport information associated with an active session between the second AGF and a client device. The first AGF device may detect that the second AGF device is associated with a failure. The first AGF device may transmit, to a first core network device, a request to switch a first path associated with the active session from the second AGF device to the first AGF device, wherein the request indicates at least one of the subscriber identity, the session information, the subscriber context, or the session transport information. The first AGF device may forward one or more data communications between a second core network device and the DHCP client device associated with the active session via a second path.

Standby access gateway function signaling for a dynamic host configuration protocol

In some implementations, an integrated broadband network gateway (BNG) device may communicate management information with a particular distributed BNG user plane device. The integrated BNG device may communicate control packets with the particular distributed BNG user plane device. The integrated BNG device may communicate session control and state information with the particular distributed BNG user plane device. The management information, the control packets, and the session control and state information may be communicated via respective interfaces between the integrated BNG device and the particular distributed BNG user plane device. Accordingly, the integrated BNG device may provide a BNG control plane for the particular distributed BNG user plane device.

Integrated broadband network gateway (BNG) device for providing a BNG control plane for one or more distributed BNG user plane devices

A device may utilize a point-to-point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) and a point-to-point protocol (PPP) to register the device with a core network, and may establish a first packet data unit (PDU) session with the core network based on the PPPoE and the PPP. The device may configure the first PDU session, based on the PPPoE and the PPP, to provide a first service, and may generate first keep alive messages to maintain the first PDU session. The device may establish a second PDU session with the core network based on the PPPoE and the PPP, and may configure the second PDU session based on the PPPoE and the PPP, where the second PDU session is configured to provide a second service that is different than the first service. The device may generate second keep alive messages to maintain the second PDU session.

Utilizing a transport protocol for fifth generation (5G) client devices to carry messages on wireline access

An Access Gateway Function (AGF) node can receive requests to join a multicast stream from a computing device. If the request is the first request to join the multicast stream, the AGF can forward the request to the UPF node. The multicast stream is then received via a tunnel between the AGF node and UPF node that is associated with the computing device. The tunnel associated with the first computing device to request joining the multicast stream can be a primary tunnel for the multicast stream. Subsequent requests to join the same multicast stream can cause the AGF node add tunnels associated with the requesting computing devices as secondary tunnels. The multicast stream is received via the primary tunnel and replicated to computing devices associated with the secondary tunnels. A secondary tunnel may be promoted to a primary tunnel in response to a failure or disconnection of the primary tunnel.

A device may receive, from a first network device, an authentication request that requests authentication of the device, and may provide, to the first network device, an authentication response that includes the authentication of the device. The device may provide, to the first network device and based on the authentication response, a PDU session establishment request that requests establishment of a PDU session for customer premises equipment, and may receive, from the first network device and based on the PDU session establishment request, a PDU session resource setup request that requests a resource to be established for the PDU session. The device may provide, to the first network device and based on the PDU session resource setup request, a PDU session resource setup response indicating that the resource is a GTP tunnel, and may establish the GTP tunnel with a second network device.

Supporting dynamic host configuration protocol-based customer premises equipment in fifth generation wireline and wireless convergence

A network device may receive a message from a device. The network device may process the message to determine identification information associated with the device. The network device may process the message to determine identification information associated with a packet data unit (PDU) session, of one or more PDU sessions, of the device. The network device may transmit based on the identification information associated with the device and the identification information associated with the PDU session of the device, the message to another network device.
