A method () for desulfurization of a flue gas in a desulfurization unit of an industrial plant, includes receiving () a plurality of baseline parameters corresponding to the desulfurization unit of the industrial plant. The method further includes measuring (), using a stack sensor, an emission value of sulfur oxides in the flue gas. The method also includes estimating (), using a controller, a desirable value of a slurry parameter for desulfurization of the flue gas based on the measured emission value of the sulfur oxides. The method further includes determining (), using the controller, at least one desulfurization parameter based on the desirable value of the slurry parameter. The method also includes controlling (), using the controller, operation of the desulfurization unit based on the at least one desulfurization parameter to modify consumption of at least one of a slurry and an auxiliary power in the industrial plant.

System and method for optimized operation of flue gas desulfurization unit

A multi-farm wind power dispatch management system is provided which includes wind turbine dispatch controllers for controlling wind power dispatch of respective wind farm components and wind farm dispatch management systems for receiving respective wind farm component operating parameters and generating respective farm-level operating parameters. The system also includes group dispatch management systems for receiving the farm-level operating parameters and generating respective group level operating parameters. The system also includes a master dispatch management system for receiving the group-level operating parameters; computing a real time output power generated by the wind farm components; determining a difference between the real time output power and a committed output power; and generating reference commands, based on the difference, for controlling at least one of, the wind farm component operating parameters, the farm-level operating parameters, the group level operating parameters, or combinations thereof to reduce the difference and dispatch the committed output power.

In one embodiment, a system for thermal management in a CT device comprises first and second thermal management zones, each comprising an x-ray detector, at least one variable speed fan proximate to the x-ray detector, an air temperature sensor positioned to measure an air temperature of the intake air to the variable speed fan, a rail heater in thermal contact with the x-ray detector, a rail temperature sensor in thermal contact with the rail heater to measure a rail temperature, and a controller that controls the variable speed fan as a function of at least the air temperature and the rail heater as a function of the rail temperature to maintain a temperature of the x-ray detector within a predetermined range.

Methods and systems to monitor health of rotor blades

A method for optimizing one or more farm-level metrics in a wind farm is presented. The method includes identifying an optimization objective and one or more decision variables for optimization. Furthermore, the method includes optimizing the optimization objective based on wake-affected wind conditions, power capture values, or damage equivalent load values, to calculate optimum decision variable values for each wind turbine. The method also includes transmitting the optimum decision variable values to the respective wind turbines. In addition, the method includes applying the optimum decision variable values to the respective wind turbines to achieve the optimization objective. Methods and systems for optimizing farm-level metrics in a wind farm

A method for determining wind turbine location within a wind power plant based on at least one design criteria. A wind turbine layout including at least one wind turbine location is prepared and site conditions at each wind turbine location are determined. One or more plant design metrics are evaluated in response to the site conditions. The plant design metrics are analyzed in response to the site conditions. The method further includes applying constraints to the wind turbine layout and comparing the plant design metrics to the design criteria and constraints. Thereafter, the wind turbine locations are selectively adjusted within the layout in response to the comparing step until a stop criteria is reached.

Method for wind turbine placement in a wind power plant

A technique is disclosed for evaluating and monitoring performance of a heat exchanger system. Operating parameters of the system are monitored and fouling factors for heat transfer surfaces of the exchanger are determined. Trending of fouling may be performed over time based upon the fouling factors, and a model of fouling may be selected from known sets of models, or a model may be developed or refined. Fluid treatment, such as water treatment regimes may be taken into account in evaluation of fouling. An automated knowledge based analysis algorithm may diagnose possible caused of fouling based upon sensed and observed parameters and conditions. Corrective actions may be suggested and the system controlled to reduce, avoid or correct for detected fouling.
