A vehicular control system includes a camera and an electronic control unit (ECU) that processes image data captured by the camera. The ECU, via processing of the image data, determines lane information of a traffic lane. The lane information includes lane boundaries. The ECU also determines presence of other vehicles on the road ahead of the equipped vehicle. The ECU, responsive to determining presence of a target vehicle ahead of the equipped vehicle, and at least in part via processing by the image data, predicts a change in velocity of the target vehicle relative to the equipped vehicle. The ECU, responsive to determining the lane information and responsive to predicting the change in velocity of the target vehicle, generates longitudinal and lateral commands for centering the vehicle within the traffic lane and maintaining a threshold distance between the equipped vehicle and the target vehicle.

Vehicular control system with traffic jam assist

A vehicular control system includes a camera and a radar sensor disposed at an equipped vehicle. The system, via processing of image data and processing of sensor data, determines other vehicles present on the road ahead of the equipped vehicle. The system, responsive to determining the presence of a plurality of other vehicles present on the road, determines a threat level for each vehicle of the plurality of other vehicles. An emergency braking system of the equipped vehicle is controlled responsive to the determined threat levels. When a vehicle of the plurality of other vehicles is no longer detectable via processing of image data captured by the camera and processing of sensor data captured by the radar sensor, the system predicts a position for the no longer detectable vehicle of the plurality of other vehicles.

Vehicular control system with autonomous braking

A vehicular control system includes a sensor disposed at a vehicle and capturing sensor data. The system, as the vehicle is approaching an intersection and responsive to processing by a processor of sensor data captured by the sensor, detects a cross-traffic threat approaching the intersection and maintains a buffer to store a trajectory of the cross-traffic threat. The system, using the trajectory, determines an intersection point between the vehicle and the cross-traffic threat, determines an arrival time at the intersection point for both the vehicle and the cross-traffic threat, and determines a difference between the arrival time of the vehicle at the intersection and the cross-traffic threat. The system, responsive to determining that the difference between the arrival time of the equipped vehicle at the intersection and the arrival time of the cross-traffic threat is less than a threshold amount, controls a safety system of the vehicle.

Vehicular automatic emergency braking system with cross-path threat determination

A vehicular control system includes a camera that captures image data. The system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) for processing image data captured by the camera. The ECU, via processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera, determines lane information of a traffic lane along a road being traveled by the equipped vehicle. The ECU determines a lane quality value that represents a confidence in the determined lane information. When the lane quality value exceeds a threshold value, and based at least in part on the determined lane information, the ECU provides a steering command to a steering system of the equipped vehicle to adjust a heading of the equipped vehicle to center the equipped vehicle within the traffic lane of the road being traveled by the equipped vehicle.

Vehicular control system with enhanced lane centering

A vehicular vision system includes a camera and a radar sensor disposed at the equipped vehicle. The system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) and, as the equipped vehicle travels along a road, the ECU, via processing of image data and processing of sensor data, determines other vehicles present on the road ahead of the equipped vehicle. The ECU, responsive to determining the presence of a plurality of other vehicles present on the road, fuses the image data captured by the camera and the sensor data captured by the radar sensor. The ECU, based on the fused data, determines a threat level for each vehicle of the plurality of other vehicles and, when the threat level for one or more vehicles of the plurality of other vehicles exceeds a threshold value, generates a braking command. The ECU transmits the braking command to a braking system of the equipped vehicle.
