A dishwasher having a treating chamber with one or more sprayers through which liquid is recirculated into the treating chamber, whereby the impact of the spray emitted from the sprayers impacts the structure forming the treating chamber to generate noise. Damping material is applied to structure forming the treating chamber to reduce the sound level of the impact exterior of the dishwasher.

An automatic dishwasher can include a tub having a bottom and at least partially defining an open face treating chamber, a base supporting the bottom of the tub and defining a mechanical area beneath the bottom of the tub, at least one sprayer emitting liquid into the treating chamber, and a rotating inlet filter assembly fluidly coupling the treating chamber to the at least one sprayer. A mounting bracket can be provided to secure the rotating inlet filter assembly to the base.

The condenser assembly can be made of a multi-layer absorptive acoustic material, which attenuates sound emanating from the treating chamber and travelling through the condensing section. The sounds attenuation can provide for reducing or eliminating the need for sound insulation necessary within the dishwasher.

The door having an inner door panel confronting the treating chamber in the closed position, and an outer door panel spaced from the inner door panel to define a door cavity there between. A foam panel located within the door cavity, the foam panel have areas of differing densities.
