Deployment of UICCs in IoT and M2M devices requires that the interface between UICC functions reliably in extreme temperature conditions. Extreme conditions may cause communication failures between the UICC and its device. The present application proposes various methods and devices for automatic recovery from UICC failure and UICC communication failures, commonly associated with extreme conditions (e.g., high temperature, low temperature, physical shock). The automatic recovery procedure includes applying one or more increased drive strength to the identity card, and may further include varying voltage and/or clock rate.

Automated UICC recovery

A method for performing emergency calls includes: camping a first subscription of a mobile communication device on a first cell on a first communication network; camping a second subscription of the mobile communication device on a second cell on a second communication network; determining by the mobile communication device whether one of the first and second subscriptions supports emergency calls; and initiating an emergency call on the determined subscription.

Efficient way of performing emergency calls in multi-subscriber identity module solutions

Exemplary embodiments are directed to operation of a device supporting multiple SIMs. A method may include detecting a paging collision scenario between a first subscription and at least a second subscription. Operation of devices supporting multiple SIMs

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE has a screen display. The UE detects that at least one image is being rendered by a first application in a predetermined display mode at the screen display. The UE receives a first input through an input device. The first input instructs the UE to perform a function. The UE discards the first input and continuing displaying the at least one image based on a predetermined rule.

A method for receiving cell broadcast messages is described. The method includes communicating with a first cell. The method also includes switching to communicating with a second cell. A cell broadcast channel is read after switching cells. The method further includes switching from a dedicated mode to a packet idle mode.
