Techniques for sharing or borrowing communication lines are discussed herein. For example, a system can distinguish between a communication line borrower and a communication line owner based on unique user identifiers. The system can identify the communication line borrower as an intended recipient of communication information and user information based on a unique identifier of the communication line borrower that is associated with the communication information and user information by one or more network nodes. The system can secure the shared communication line against activation by the communication line owner and additional communication line borrowers while the shared communication line is assigned to the communication line borrower.

Borrower privacy enhancement for shared-line solutions

Systems may establish a Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) session during a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) outage. The systems may include Network Functions (NF) that perform steps for establishing the SIP session and/or bypassing the HSS experiencing the outage. For instance, an Interrogating (I)-Call Session Control Function (CSCF) may modify a terminating message received from a User Equipment (UE) to generate a modified terminating message, and send one or more instances (e.g., forks) of the modified terminating message to one or more candidate Serving (S)-CSCFs. A particular S-CSCF of the candidate S-CSCFs may comprise the registered S-CSCF and may respond to an instance of the modified terminating message. In some embodiments, the I-CSCF may establish the SIP session by sending an instance of the modified terminating message to a designated S-CSCF. The designated S-CSCF may determine which candidate S-CSCF comprises the registered S-CSCF, for instance, by querying the candidate S-CSCFs.

A cellular communication carrier may implement SMS/MMS services using both a traditional store-and-forward system and an enhanced messaging system having a common, service-maintained message store for access by multiple clients. In order to enhance interoperability between the systems, a synchronization client is installed on a mobile device having a traditional SMS/MMS messaging client. The synchronization client accesses the local message store of the mobile device and also communications with the enhanced messaging system in order to synchronize the local message store and the common message store of the enhanced messaging system.

Systems, methods, and applications for providing consolidated call logs for both cellular and internet calls. The application (or, 'app') can retrieve (pull), or push, information from a cellular call log to a web real-time communications (WebRTC) call log, and vice-versa. The applications can retrieve call log information from a WebRTC client, for example, and then push this information to user equipment (UE) using a suitable messaging protocol. The app can also retrieve the cellular call log from the call log on the UE, or from cloud-based storage, and push it to the WebRTC client. A consolidated call log can be provided that provides all calls (i.e., cellular- and web-based calls) in a single log. The consolidated call log can also include tabs, or other features, to enable the calls to be displayed separately by source.
