A front airbag for a road vehicle; the front airbag having: a stowage compartment formed in a front portion of the dashboard of the road vehicle; a bag normally deflated and folded inside the stowage compartment; and a generator which is housed inside the stowage compartment, is connected to the bag, and inflates the bag in the event of collision; the inflated bag has a longitudinal depth that decreases substantially in a thrust direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the road vehicle.

An embodiment of a vehicle having: a boot compartment; a spare wheel, which is housed within the boot compartment; and a thrust device, which is set within the boot compartment, rests against the spare wheel, and pushes the spare wheel in an eccentric way in order to bring about a rotation of the spare wheel about a horizontal axis of rotation and towards a vertical position following upon a progressive reduction of the size of the boot compartment during impact.

An embodiment of a method of controlling a road vehicle having a number of wheels; a frame housing a passenger compartment; and a number of suspensions suspending the frame from respective wheels, and expandable or contractable to adjust the height of the frame with respect to the ground; the method including the steps of: determining a collision; and raising the frame with respect to the ground by expanding at least some of the suspensions on determining a collision.
