A method for producing one or more of benzene, toluene, or xylene may include contacting a feed stream including Calkylaromatic hydrocarbons with a catalyst mixture to form one or more of benzene, toluene, or xylene. The catalyst mixture may include mesoporous zeolite Beta, ZSM-5 zeolite, one or more active metals, and binder material. The feed stream may include Calkylaromatic hydrocarbons in an amount of at least 10 wt. %. The weight ratio of mesoporous zeolite Beta to ZSM-5 zeolite may be from 2 to 4.

Methods for producing xylenes with limited ethylbenzene production

An integrated process for producing para-xylenes may include catalytically reforming a naphtha feed stream; separating the reformate stream into a C-Chydrocarbon stream and a Chydrocarbon stream; exposing the C-Chydrocarbon stream to a first solvent in a solvent extraction unit to form a non-aromatic hydrocarbon stream and an aromatics stream; upgrading the aromatics stream to form a toluene-rich transalkylation feed stream; separating the Chydrocarbon stream into a Chydrocarbon stream, a para-xylene stream and a xylene isomer stream; dealkylating the Chydrocarbon stream; separating the dealkylation product stream into an additional xylene stream and a tri-methyl benzene rich stream; and upgrading the toluene-rich transalkylation feed stream and the tri-methyl benzene rich stream with a hydrogen stream to produce an alkyl-benzene stream and additional xylene stream, wherein a ratio by weight of the toluene-rich transalkylation feed stream to the tri-methylbenzene rich stream is from 0.3 to 3.

Integrated processes and systems for producing para-xylenes

A process for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with steam in the presence of a cracking catalyst at reaction conditions sufficient to cause at least a portion of hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon feed to undergo one or more cracking reactions to produce a steam catalytic cracking effluent comprising light olefins, light aromatic compounds, or both. The cracking catalyst is hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite. The hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite is made by providing a starting ZSM-5 zeolite, disintegrating the a portion of the starting ZSM-5 in the presence of a surfactant using sodium hydroxide, and then recrystallizing the zeolite constituents in the presence of the surfactant to produce recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite. The recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite is then recovered and calcined to produce the hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite.

Mesoporous ZSM-5 for steam enhanced catalytic cracking of crude oil

A process of producing a catalyst comprises forming mesoporous beta zeolite particles, impregnating mesoporous beta zeolite particles with a metal and phosphorus to produce a metal and phosphorus impregnated zeolite, and incorporating the metal and phosphorus impregnated zeolite with clay and alumina to produce the catalyst. The forming step comprises converting a crystalline beta zeolite to a non-crystalline material with reduced silica content relative to the crystalline beta zeolite, and crystalizing the non-crystalline material to produce mesoporous beta zeolite particles.

Processes of producing catalysts

A process for upgrading crude oil through steam enhanced catalytic cracking includes contacting crude oil with steam and a cracking catalyst at a mass ratio of steam to crude oil of 0.2-1. The cracking catalyst is a hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite impregnated with phosphorous, cerium, lanthanum, and iron. Contacting the crude oil with steam and the cracking catalyst cracks a portion of the crude oil to produce light olefins, light aromatic compounds, or both. The cracking catalyst is prepared by partially disintegrating a starting ZSM-5 zeolite in a first mixture comprising sodium hydroxide and a surfactant and, after the disintegrating, recrystallizing zeolite constituents in the presence of the surfactant to produce a recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite having a hierarchical pore structure. The recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite is recovered and calcined to produce the hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite, which is then impregnated with the phosphorous, lanthanum, cerium, and iron.

Impregnated hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts for steam enhanced catalytic cracking of crude oil to petrochemicals

A method of producing a hierarchical zeolite composite catalyst. The method including dissolving, in an alkaline solution and in the presence of a surfactant, a catalyst precursor comprising mesoporous zeolite to yield a dissolved zeolite solution, where the mesoporous zeolite comprises large pore mordenite and medium pore ZSM-5. The method also including condensing the dissolved zeolite solution to yield a solid zeolite composite from the dissolved zeolite solution and heating the solid zeolite composite to remove the surfactant. The method further including impregnating the solid zeolite composite with one or more active metals selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, platinum, rhenium, nickel, and combinations thereof to yield impregnated solid zeolite composite and calcining the impregnated solid zeolite composite to produce the hierarchical zeolite composite catalyst. The hierarchical zeolite composite catalyst has a mesostructure comprising at least one disordered mesophase and at least one ordered mesophase.

Composite hierarchical zeolite catalyst for heavy reformate conversion to xylenes

A method of producing a hierarchical zeolite composite catalyst is provided. The method includes dissolving, in an alkaline solution and in the presence of a surfactant, a catalyst precursor comprising mesoporous zeolite to yield a dissolved zeolite solution, where the mesoporous zeolite comprises large pore ZSM-12 and medium pore ZSM-5. The method also includes condensing the dissolved zeolite solution to yield a solid zeolite composite from the dissolved zeolite solution and heating the solid zeolite composite to remove the surfactant. The method further includes impregnating the solid zeolite composite with one or more active metals selected from the group consisting of platinum, rhenium, rhodium, molybdenum, nickel, tungsten, chromium, ruthenium, gold, and combinations thereof to yield impregnated solid zeolite composite and calcining the impregnated solid zeolite composite to produce the hierarchical zeolite composite catalyst. The hierarchical zeolite composite catalyst has a mesostructure comprising at least one disordered mesophase and at least one ordered mesophase.

A method of making BTX (benzene, toluene, xylene) compounds by feeding a heavy reformate stream to a reactor, where the reactor includes a composite zeolite catalyst, that contains a mixture of a desilicated mesoporous mordenite and ZSM-5, and in which the desilicated mesoporous mordenite, the ZSM-5, or both, comprise one or more impregnated metals. The composite zeolite catalyst is able to catalyze the transalkylation reaction and the dealkylation reaction simultaneously to produce the BTX compounds.

Catalyst for converting heavy reformate to produce BTX compounds

Systems and methods for liquid-phase oxidation of an aromatic feedstock containing at least one oxidizable aromatic compound may incorporate an oxidation reactor, a separation apparatus in fluidic communication with the oxidation reactor, a solids treatment unit, and a product recovery unit in fluidic communication with the separation apparatus. The oxidation reactor may conduct liquid-phase oxidation of the oxidizable aromatic compound in the aromatic feedstock in the presence of a manganate salt to form a slurry containing liquid product and solid manganese dioxide. The separation apparatus may accept the slurry from the oxidation reactor and separate the liquid component from the solid component. The solids treatment unit accepts the solid component from the separation apparatus, treats the solid component with a basic liquid to oxidize the manganese dioxide in the solid component and form a regenerated manganate salt, which may be recycled back to the oxidation reactor.
