A processor is configured to execute an event-driven program along a plurality of execution paths. Each of the plurality of execution paths is determined by randomly chosen outcomes at non-deterministic points along the plurality of execution paths. A memory is configured to store values of properties of the event-driven code in response to executing the event-driven program along the plurality of execution paths. The processor is also configured to infer normal ranges of the properties of the event-driven program based on the values stored in the memory.

Root cause analysis for service degradation in computer networks

A method for deriving a composite tie metric for an edge between nodes of a telecommunication call graph includes receiving descriptive data with original values for descriptive attributes associated with a telecommunication call graph formed by edges between nodes. Each edge relates to two nodes. Each original value relates to an edge and a descriptive attribute forming an edge-attribute pair for the corresponding original value. The descriptive data is stored in a local storage device. Scaling factors for each descriptive attribute are determined taking into account a distribution of the original values for the corresponding descriptive attribute and a common base for the descriptive attributes. Weighting factors are determined for each descriptive attribute. The composite tie metric is computed for an edge based on the original value, scaling factor, and weighting factor for the descriptive attributes.

Method and apparatus for deriving composite tie metric for edge between nodes of a telecommunication call graph

A system and method for generating a subscriber churn prediction includes receiving call detail records from a network operator detailing communication between subscribers of the network operator and determining tie-strengths between subscribers based on the call detail records. The system and method further includes generating a net churn influence accumulated at each subscriber from the tie-strengths by propagating churner influence between subscribers due to churn events.

System and method for generating subscriber churn predictions

In an exemplary method, a call origination request containing a toll-free telephone number of the called party is received from a wireless handset supported by a mobility service provider at a switching node of the telecommunication network. A determination is made if the called party has agreed to pay for at least a portion of the telecommunication service charge by the mobility service provider for providing wireless access to the wireless handset for the call. If the called party has agreed to pay for at least a portion of the telecommunication service charge by the mobility service provider, a call detail record associated with said call is generated that contains information indicating that the called party will be responsible for at least the portion of the telecommunication service charge by the mobility service provider. The call is then terminated to the called party.
