A pusher mechanism for transferring a selected number of containers from a dead plate of an I.S. machine to a conveyor. The mechanism has a finger assembly including a back support portion and a finger portion, with the back support portion and the finger portion defining a pocket having a corner at their juncture. The finger portion has an air jet with the center line thereof making an acute angle with the finger portion and selectively located so that a bottle placed on the deadplate within the pocket will be located on the side of the center line remote from the corner of the pocket, and the back support portion is selectively inclined to the finger portion to substantially prevent the bouncing of a bottle, drawn into the pocket by the air jet, off the finger portion in the direction of the air jet.

Pusher mechanism for I.S. glass forming machine

A pusher has one or more pockets for receiving glass containers like bottles. Each pocket is defined by a corner between a finger and a side portion. To positively locate the bottles in their pockets, a jet of air is directed at each bottle proximate the heel in a direction from the finger surface towards the corner so that the bottle will be forcefully pulled into the corner and held there.

Vented plunger cooling exhaust air is directed downwardly through the lower cylinder through suspended tubing to isolate the hot exhaust air from the lower cylinder.

Plunger mechanism for an I.S. machine

An H-28 machine is a glassware making machine having a plurality of glass making sections which rotate about a vertical axle. The complete process takes one revolution. Individual section mechanisms are controlled by electronically setable cams on a central timing drum and whenever two mechanisms sequentially occupy the same space in a section, machine speed is determined and the cam settings are checked to make certain that the mechanisms will not interfere.

A pusher system for transferring formed glass bottles from a plurality of deadplates which are part of an I.S. machine to a common conveyor. A discrete pusher is associated with each dead plate and can transfer the bottles on that dead plate to either of two spaced lines along the conveyor thereby enabling a multiplicity of bottle rows to increase conveyor capacity.

A plunger mechanism assembly where cooling air to and hot exhaust air from the plunger passes through the base plate which supports the mechanism. The hot and cool air is horizontally separated in a laminated base and insulated one from the other by a plate of heat resistant material.

The ware handler is axially advanceable from a retracted position to an advanced position to receive ware deposited on a dead plate and during its pivotal movement to displace the ware through an arc onto a deadplate the ware handler is further advanceable in accordance with a predetermined feed program to maintain control over the received ware.

A gob distributor for directing glass gobs to glassware-forming sections. Most particularly, this relates to the automatic positioning of scoops receiving the glass gobs from the glassmaking apparatus and directing them into troughs of glassware-forming sections which are arranged in a bank. The gob distributor features an arrangement wherein the distributor may be converted to vary the number of scoops in a scoop group from one to three or more. Principal features of the gob distributor are the utilization of a servomotor which is a reversible DC motor for positioning a rack which controls the angle of the scoops, and a releasable ball screw drive.

A gob distributor for directing glass gobs to glassware-forming sections. An improved blank cylinder mechanism for a glassware making machine which utilizes shims between the bottom plate and support in conjunction with the cam track to adjust the angular position of the cylinder in down position. Also, the blank cylinder mechanism uses a double tapered slot in the piston rod to provide cushioning.

Blank cylinder apparatus

A cooling air system for a glassware forming machine which has a plurality of individual forming units, with each unit having a plurality of different mechanisms to be cooled and each unit having the same mechanisms. The system includes a manifold associated with each mechanism, an inlet line connecting each manifold to a source of cooling air, and a pilot operated regulator in each inlet line. The manifold is connected to its associated members in all forming units. Manually operated means are associated with each of the pressure regulators for individually controlling the flow of pilot air to each pressure regulator.

A blowhead apparatus including a blowhead arm and a blowhead body having at least one blowhead therein. The blowhead body is removably connected to the blowhead arm. The blowhead includes a retaining member, a seating member mounted on a sealed bearing, and a sealing ring having a seating surface mating with a seating surface on the seating member. A fluid system for supplying high and low pressure air includes a sealed pilot operated shuttle valve for controlling the high and low pressure air, a pilot valve for controlling the shuttle valve, and an on-off valve for the low pressure air.
