A stent for use in the nasolacrimal duct of a patient's eye. The stent is used to maintain and improve the patency of the nasolacrimal duct. The stent uses a hollow shaft to create a fluid pathway from the punctum to the inferior meatus. Either the superior or inferior punctum can be selected for insertion of the stent. An inserter is used to position the flexible stent into position. A guidewire attached to the inserter is removed from the stent and it transforms from its collapsed state to its deployed state. A first anchor stabilizes the proximal end of the stent to the punctum and ampulla. A second anchor stabilizes the proximal end of the stent near the inferior meatus. The second anchor can take any of several deployed shapes, such as a pigtail or fins.

Nasolacrimal duct stent assembly and method

A waste management system and method of use. The waste management system includes a waste transport device and a waste collection device. The waste transport device includes a generally tubular body, a distal end section configured for disposition and maintenance in a patient's rectum, and a proximal end section including a first connector biased in a sealed position. The waste collection device includes a second connector. The first connector is transitioned to an unsealed position when the first connector is secured to the second connector.

Waste management system

The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter assembly and method of making and using the packaged urinary catheter assembly. The urinary catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving fluid from a patient. The urinary catheter is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the urinary catheter and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the urinary catheter may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.

A securement device, system, and method for use with a medical article. The securement device, system, or method may include a body that has a top surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface has an adhesive compound thereon. A resilient retainer formed from a soft, tacky elastomeric gel or foam is supported by the bottom surface of the body. The resilient retainer receives and secures a medical device. The medical device is secured to the skin of a patient upon affixing the bottom surface to the patient via the adhesive compound.

Medical device securement system

A securement system for anchoring a medical article to a patient includes a pliant holding device. The device has a body and a plurality of tentacles extending from the body. The tentacles compress and may conform around at least a portion of the medical article to form a secure mount. The holding device may also cushion the medical article and protect the site of attachment on the patient while promoting air circulation. The holding device may include a support and a hinge so that the holding device may be swung away from the medical article to provide easy access for a medical provider.

Securement system for a medical article

A waste management system includes a waste transport device and a waste collection device. The waste transport device includes a collection member with a distal end opening having a first cross-sectional area and a proximal end opening having a second cross-sectional area less than the first cross-sectional area, a retention cuff disposed about an outer surface of the collection member, and a first section having a lumen in fluid communication with a lumen of the collection member.

The waste collection device includes a second connector and an opening biased in a sealed position. Securing the first connector to the second connector enables transitioning the proximal end opening of the waste transport device and the waste collection device opening to unsealed positions.

A catheter is described herein, having a catheter shaft including a proximal end and a distal end, a tip attached to the distal end, including first and second legs spaced apart to form a slot therebetween, the slot in fluid communication with a lumen of the catheter shaft, and a bladder inflatable element positioned over an outer surface of at least one of the first and second legs.

The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter. The catheter includes a conduit having a proximal end and a distal end. An enteral tube includes a built-in Gastric Residual Volume (GRV) detection sensor at the distal end and a GRV indicating device at the proximal end for indicating the current GRV without requiring the aspiration of any stomach contents. The enteral tube with integrated GRV detection sensor is flexible and long enough to be looped around within the stomach. Weights may be employed to keep the sensor located generally at the lowest portion of the gastric cavity. The GRV detection sensor may include a sealed air column terminating with a flexible membrane. When the enteral tube and sealed air column are inserted into the stomach and submerged in gastric contents, pressure is exerted against the flexible membrane, and therefore against the sealed air column. A pressure sensor detects the pressure within the sealed air column and provides a signal or level representative of the amount of gastric contents in the stomach.

The system may also include an insertion device to facilitate insertion of the waste transport device into the rectum of a patient.

A gel pad for use with a retainer for securing a medical article. The gel pad is formed from a soft, tacky elastomer. A first surface of the gel pad is placed in contact with a patient's skin. A second surface that faces in an opposite direction away from the first surface receives the retainer. The retainer has a channel configured to retain at least a portion of the medical article. In some embodiments, a securement member is employed to affix the retainer relative to the patient. A securement system including the gel pad and retainer is further disclosed along with a method of securing a medical article to a patient.
