The invention refers to a blade of a rotary flow machine including an airfoil having a suction surface and a pressure surface joining each other along a trailing and a leading edge. A radially outward directed airfoil tip and a radially inward directed end joining an inner platform connect the airfoil to a shank at a radial end of the airfoil and providing, at least one shank pocket radially encircled by an axially extending portion of the platform. At least one radially extending rim extends from the trailing edge side of the shank and has an essentially radially orientated first slot for receiving a seal. A mount extends radially inwardly from said shank pocket. The first slot has a first aperture on a shank surface orientated in an axial direction.

The invention relates to a method for operating a gas turbine system, wherein the gas turbine system includes a compressor, a combustor, a heat recovery steam generator, a scrubber, a direct contact cooler. The method includes introducing the scrubbing fluid discharged from the scrubber into the direct contact cooler, contacting the scrubbing fluid in the direct contact cooler with the exhaust gas discharged from the heat recovery steam generator in order to remove a portion of nitrogen oxide therefrom; feeding the exhaust gas discharged from the direct contact cooler into the compressor. With the technical solution of the present invention, nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas is reduced to a certain extent by means of used scrubbing fluid from the scrubber. This solution may improve the efficiency in reduction of nitrogen oxide with a simple and feasible manner.

An improved labyrinth seal is described with the seal including a group of several fins forming circumferential barriers against the flow of a working fluid between stationary and rotating parts in a turbine, wherein within the group the volume between the penultimate fin and the last fin is altered compared to the average volume between other adjacent fins of the group.
