An active noise control system generates an anti-noise signal to drive a speaker to produce sound waves to destructively interfere with an undesired sound in a quiet zone. The anti-noise signal is generated with an adaptive filter having filter coefficients. The coefficients of the adaptive filter may be adjusted based on a first filter adjustment from a first listening region, and a second filter adjustment from a second listening region. A first weighting factor may be applied to the first filter adjustment, and a second weighting factor may be applied to the second filter adjustment. The first and second weighting factors may dictate the location and size of the quiet zone as being outside or partially within at least one of the first listening region and the second listening region.

Quiet zone control system

An active noise control system includes a plurality of adaptive filters. The plurality of adaptive filters each receives an input signal representative of an undesired sound. The adaptive filters may each generate an output signal based on the input signal. The output signals are used to generate an anti-noise signal configured to drive a speaker to produce sound waves to destructively interfere with the undesired sound.

An active noise control system generates an anti-noise signal to drive a speaker to produce sound waves to destructively interfere with an undesired sound in a targeted space. The speaker is also driven to produce sound waves representative of a desired audio signal. Sound waves are detected in the target space and a representative signal is generated. The representative signal is combined with an audio compensation signal to remove a signal component representative of the sound waves based on the desired audio signal and generate an error signal. The active noise control adjusts the anti-noise signal based on the error signal. The active noise control system converts the sample rates of an input signal representative of the undesired sound, the desired audio signal, and the error signal. The active noise control system converts the sample rate of the anti-noise signal.

System for active noise control with audio signal compensation

An active noise control (ANC) system includes at least one infinite impulse response filter (IIR). The IIR filter generates an output signal based on an input signal representative of an undesired sound. The ANC system generates an anti-noise signal based on the output signal of the IIR filter. The anti-noise signal is used to drive a speaker to generate sound waves to destructively interfere with the undesired sound. The ANC system includes an update system to generate update coefficients. The update system determines the stability of the update coefficients. Coefficients of the IIR filter are replaced with the update coefficients. The update system generates a set of update coefficients for each sample of the input signal.

An active noise control (ANC) system is configured to generate at least one anti-noise signal configured to drive a speaker to generate sound waves to destructively interfere with an undesired sound present in a target space. The at least one anti-noise signal is adjusted based an output signal of an audio system. The at least one anti-noise signal may be adjusted based on at least one of a volume level of the audio system, a power level of at least one predetermined frequency or frequency range of the output signal of the audio system, frequency content of an output signal of the audio system. The ANC system receives an error signal to adjust generation of the at least one anti-noise signal. The error signal is adjusted to compensate for adjustment of the at least one anti-noise signal based on the output signal of the audio system.

An active noise control system generates an anti-noise signal to drive a first speaker group including at least one speaker to produce sound waves to destructively interfere with an undesired sound in at least one quiet zone. The active noise control system receives error signals representative of a combination of undesired sound and destructively interfering sound waves produced by the first speaker group. The active noise control system may select a second speaker group to replace the first speaker group based on the error signals.

A system for blending a hybrid radio signal provides reduced volume level transitions during blending from an analog component of the hybrid signal to the digital component by adjusting blend and cross-fade variables, as well as setting a hysteresis mode to prevent undesirable jumping from digital mode back to analog mode sequentially. The system also compensates for digital AM frequency quality issues by adjusting a filter bandwidth when the transceiver blends the AM signal from analog to digital mode.

A system that blends a hybrid radio signal may provide reduced audio content skipping and may determine an audio correlation between analog and digital signal components in the hybrid radio signal before blending from the analog signal component to the digital signal component. The system may reduce volume level transitions during blending by adjustment of blend and cross-fade variables, as well as setting a hysteresis mode to prevent undesirable sequential jumping from digital mode back to analog mode. The system also may compensate for digital AM frequency quality issues by adjustment of a filter bandwidth when the receiver blends an AM signal from analog to digital mode.

Audio correlation system for high definition radio blending

Techniques are described for enhancing a hearing assist device using one or more coprocessor devices. The hearing assist device uses a handshaking protocol to detect and pair with the one or more coprocessor devices. The hearing assist device is capable of stand-alone signal processing in the absence of the coprocessor devices. In one embodiment, the hearing assist device directs processing of a signal to the coprocessor device when the coprocessor is detected. In another embodiment, the hearing assist device detects a coprocessor device and uses the coprocessor device to supplement signal processing performed by the hearing assist device. In yet another embodiment, the hearing assist device communicates with a plurality of coprocessor devices and the work of processing the signal is shared amongst the devices according to a respective functionality of each device.
