The system destroys the datacenter or a set of datacenter entities of the datacenter. The system determines dependencies between datacenter entities based on the declarative specification. The system generates an aggregate destroy pipeline comprising a hierarchy of pipelines. The system generates an aggregate destruction version map associating datacenter entities of the datacenter with versions of software artifacts, wherein a software artifact stores instructions for destroying resources of a datacenter entity. The system collects a set of software artifacts according to the aggregate destruction version map. The system executes the aggregate destroy pipeline in conjunction with the aggregate destruction version map to destroy the set of datacenter entities of the datacenter.

The system compiles the cloud platform independent declarative specification to generate a metadata representation of the data center. If the datacenter is existing, the system generates a metadata representation representing modifications to the datacenter to obtain a desired datacenter. The system sends the metadata representation and a set of instructions for execution on a target cloud platform. The target cloud platform executes the instructions to configure the data center. The system provides users with access to the computing resources of the data center configured by the target cloud platform.

Modifying a data center based on cloud computing platform using declarative language and compiler

Computing systems, for example, multi-tenant systems create data centers in a cloud platform using a cloud platform infrastructure language that is cloud platform independent. The system receives a cloud platform independent declarative specification describing a new datacenter to be created and a customization specification for customizing the data center. The system compiles the declarative specification along with the customization specification to generate a metadata representation of the data center. The metadata representation is used to generate a data center on a target cloud platform. Different customization specifications can be provided to generate different customized datacenters based on the same declarative specification. For example, the different customized data centers may implement different policies, for example, network policies, security policies, and so on.

Declarative specification based override mechanism for customizing data centers deployed on cloud platforms

A system is presented for provisioning resources on a target cloud platform based on a platform-independent specification of a data center. The system identifies data center entities represented within the platform-independent declarative specification and generates data structures and metadata representations of the data center entities. The system then generates instructions for provisioning services or deploying applications for creating one or more services on the target cloud platform based on the data structures and metadata representations of the data center entities according to the declarative specification. The system sends the generated instructions for execution on the target cloud computing platform, where the target cloud computing platform executes the instructions to generate the data center. The system provides users with access to the computing resources of the data center created by the cloud computing platform.

Declarative language and compiler for provisioning and deploying data centers on cloud platforms

A system receives a pause request to pause a virtual environment that includes one or more virtual machines, each respective virtual machine having a mounting point connected to at least one corresponding block level storage volume. The system builds a model and a dependency graph of one or more components in the virtual environment. The system stores the model, the dependency graph and tags a snapshot of each corresponding block level storage volume. The system stops the one or more components in accordance with dependency logic of the dependency graph and stops the one or more virtual machines. The system builds the virtual environment and restarts the virtual machines in response to a resume request.

Restoring the state of paused virtual machine environments with external attached volumes

A system receives one or more modifications to a platform-independent declarative specification from a set of data center entity owner teams to generate a modified platform-independent declarative specification that captures various aspects for deploying a data center on a target cloud platform. The system performs end-to-end validation of the modifications in multiple phases, starting with validating the modifications based on a set of predefined rules associated with the modified platform-independent declarative specification. When all the multiple phases of validation indicate success, the system a notification of end-to-end validation success in association with the received changes. Each request to modify a data center entity in the platform-independent declarative specification undergoes governance checks to ensure that the approver of the request belongs to a predefined set of owners associated with the data center entity.

Validation and governance of a cloud computing platform based datacenter

A system receives one or more changes to a platform-independent declarative specification to generate a modified platform-independent declarative specification that captures various aspects for deploying a data center on a target cloud platform. The system facilitates auditing by generating a snapshot of each modified declarative specification. After compilation of the modified declarative specification to generate a platform-specific metadata representation of the data center, the system generates a unique identifier, and associates the generated snapshot of the modified declarative specification, the metadata representation of the data center, the provisioned cloud resources on the target cloud platform, and the deployed data center on the target cloud platform with the unique identifier. The associated identifier is subsequently used for performing audit tracking of changes made to data center entities associated with the any of: a metadata representation, a set of provisioned cloud resources, and a deployed data center.

The system receives a request to create a virtual machine environment that requires at least one virtual machine load balancer. The system allocates a virtual machine load balancer from the pool to the virtual machine environment.

Data-persisting temporary virtual machine environments are described. A computing system enables a user to access a virtual machine and a virtual data store in a temporary virtual machine environment in response to receiving a user request to access the temporary virtual machine environment. The computing system stores data as virtual data store data in the virtual data store in response to receiving the data from the user. The computing system creates a copy of the virtual data store data if all users are signed off from use of the temporary virtual machine environment. The computing system deletes the virtual machine and the virtual data store. The computing system receives a request by a specific user to access the temporary virtual machine environment, and enables the specific user to access a recreated virtual machine and the copy of the virtual data store data.

Systems and methods are provided for batch processing of data records in an on-demand system. A marker is stored that identifies a node in an on-demand system and identifies a most recent data record processed in a relational database management system by the node. The marker is used to query the database management system to identify a batch of records for the node to process. The batch of records is processed by the node to update a client of data changes reflected by the batch of records.
