Implementations relate to an automated assistant that can determine whether to respond to inputs in an environment according to whether radar data indicates a user is present. When user presence is detected, the automated assistant can virtually segment the environment and apply certain operational parameters to certain segments of the environment. For instance, the automated assistant can enable an input detection feature, such as warm word detection, for a segmented portion of the environment in which a user is detected. In this way, false positives can be mitigated for instances in which environmental and/or user sounds are detected by the automated assistant but do not originate from a particular segment of the environment. Other parameters, such as varying confidence thresholds and/or speech processing biasing, can be temporarily enforced for different segments of an environment in which a user is detected.

Automated assistant that utilizes radar data to determine user presence and virtually segment an environment

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for haptic feedback devices with reduced power consumption. In one embodiment, an example device may include a first spring, a mass coupled to the first spring, and a resonant piezoelectric actuator coupled to the first spring. The resonant piezoelectric actuator may be configured to impart a force on the mass via the first spring responsive to an applied voltage. The device may include a power source configured to supply the applied voltage to the resonant piezoelectric actuator, where motion of the mass generates vibration.

A system and method for determining an in-ear status of a wearable audio device includes determining that the device is in motion by monitoring a first sensor (e.g., an accelerometer) and determining that an acceleration is greater than an acceleration threshold. Once motion is determined, a second sensor (e.g., a capacitive sensor) is activated; contact with a body is determined based on contact data from the second sensor (e.g., a capacitance being greater than a capacitance threshold). Once contact is determined, a third sensor (e.g., an infrared sensor) is activated; proximity to the body is determined based on infrared data from third sensor (e.g., infrared data being greater than an infrared threshold). Once proximity is determined, the device changes its status to in-ear.
