Disclosed herein is a urinary collection system including a urine collection bag and a vacuum chamber coupled to the urine collection bag. The vacuum chamber is positioned in a vertical orientation. A top end of the vacuum chamber includes a drainage inlet and a vacuum port, and a bottom end of the vacuum chamber includes a drainage outlet. An isolation chamber is disposed between the vacuum chamber and urine collection bag, where the isolation chamber is configured to prevent reflux of urine from the urine collection bag into the vacuum chamber. A vacuum tube extends between the vacuum chamber and a vacuum pump. A plunger valve in line with an outlet of vacuum chamber is transitioned to a closed state when a vacuum is applied to the vacuum chamber and transitioned back the open state when the vacuum is removed from the vacuum chamber.

Urinary collection system

A urinary drainage system can include an air pressure apparatus with a connector having an elongate connector body. The connector includes a lumen having a larger proximal lumen diameter and a smaller distal lumen diameter. The system includes an air intake adapter having an elongate adapter body, including a proximal end having a proximal opening configured to be coupled to the distal end of the connector. The adapter can include an air intake port in fluid communication with the adapter lumen, the adapter lumen having a larger proximal lumen diameter and a smaller distal lumen diameter.

Urinary drainage system with air pressure apparatus

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a drainage control system including, a tubular body with a tubular body lumen extending from a distal end to a proximal end and a collapsible tube disposed within the tubular body lumen, the collapsible tube including a collapsible tube lumen extending from a distal end to a proximal end of the collapsible tube. The collapsible tube can be attached to the tubular body, such that fluid flow through the tubular body lumen flows through the collapsible tube lumen. The tubular body can include a valve that is actuatable between a first configuration wherein fluid flow is allowed through the tubular body lumen and a second configuration wherein fluid flow is prevented through the tubular body lumen. An airflow source can be coupled to the valve such that pressure from the airflow source actuates the valve.

Collapsible thin-walled valve for drainage control

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a dynamic response drainage and occlusion system configured to drain a fluid from a patient. The drainage system includes an input airflow device to provide airflow into the drainage lumen, a pressure sensor to measure pressure within the drainage tube, and an output airflow device to provide airflow out of the drainage tube. A controller including control logic configured to acquire pressure data from the pressure sensor, determine a running pressure rate-of-change from the acquired pressure data, compare the running pressure rate-of-change with a pressure rate-of-change defined by the control logic, and adjust an operating characteristic of at least one of the input airflow device and the output airflow device to move the running pressure rate-of-change toward the pressure rate-of-change defined by the control logic. The system further includes catheter occlusions systems to automatically protect the patient from pressure spikes within the system.

A connector for a fluid drainage system having a body defining a drainage lumen extending longitudinally from a distal portion to a proximal portion. The body can include a piston housing and an inlet in fluid communication with a positive air pressure source. A piston is slidably engaged with the piston housing along a transverse axis between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the piston provides fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen and occludes fluid communication between the inlet and the drainage lumen. The piston in the second position occludes fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen and provides fluid communication between the inlet and the drainage lumen to clear dependent loops, while preventing distal fluid flow into a catheter.
