A charging device can include an input interface for receiving electrical power from a power source and an output interface for outputting electrical power to a mobile electronic device. The charging device can include a supplemental battery. A bypass electrical pathway can couple the input interface to the output interface to pass electrical charge from the power supply through the charging device to the mobile electronic device. A charging electrical pathway can couple the input interface to the supplemental battery. A discharge electrical pathway can couple the supplemental battery to the output interface. The bypass electrical pathway can include a voltage modifier configured to modify the voltage output by the output interface. The charging device can be configured to empirically determine the power capacity of the power supply. The charging device can monitor temperatures and/or battery health information, which can be used to reduce current or disable the charging device.

Features are disclosed relating to a case for a mobile device that provides supplemental battery power and supplemental storage space to the mobile device. Additional features are disclosed relating to an external storage device that can provide supplemental battery power and/or supplemental storage space for one or more devices. Files may be shared across multiple (e.g., two or more) devices, operated by or associated with multiple users, providing multiple file storage locations. In some embodiments, a system can be configured to communicate to and from a media device. The media device can include a first controller. In some examples, the physical host module and the physical device module are configured to establish a physical communications pipe between the media device and the docking station. The virtual host module and the virtual device module can be configured to establish a virtual communications pipe between the media device and the docking station using the physical communications pipe. In some embodiments, a method of identifying at least one transmission frequency in a set of carrier frequencies can include: (a) determining a first signal strength for each carrier frequency in the set of carrier frequencies; (b) choosing a first transmission frequency from the set of carrier frequencies at least partially based on the first signal strength of each of the carrier frequencies of the set of carrier frequencies; and (c) broadcasting electrical signals over the first transmission frequency.
