Calendar repair may be provided. Calendar events, such as appointments and meetings, may be created and copied to a plurality of attendee calendars. A first copy of the event may be compared to a second copy of the event, and an event property of the second event may be updated to match a corresponding event property of the first event.

Enhanced input field features and techniques for displaying and resolving location information in meeting items are provided. In response to a user's interaction with a place name displayed in the location field of a user interface for a meeting item, up to date information is retrieved about the location associated with the place name from a web service and displayed. The display can include a map image tile. In addition to enabling the displaying of up to date information, during creation of the meeting item, the location input field of a meeting item can present location suggestions from within the location input field, for example, as a drop-down listing of possible locations. The suggestions for completing a user's input text string to the location input field can be obtained from sources such as a web service, a mailbox, a managed database/directory service, a history cache/database or a combination thereof.

Calendar repair using a standard message may be provided. Calendar events, such as appointments and meetings, may be created and copied to a plurality of attendee calendars. A first copy of the event may be compared to a second copy of the event to determine whether properties between the events are out-of-sync. If so, a standard meeting request message comprising the correct value may be sent to update the out-of-sync property.

Repairing calendars with standard meeting messages

Identification of corrupted event data may be provided. Calendar events, such as appointments and meetings, may be created and copied to a plurality of attendee calendars. Changes to the event may be logged and, if the change results from a user interaction with a user interface, a user intent identifier may be associated with the log entry. Other changes that do not result from direct user interaction may not be associated with the user intent identifier. Event corruption detection may identify out-of-sync properties between two calendar events associated with the same meeting and, if the out-of-sync property is not associated with the user intent identifier, the properties may be updated to match each other.

Identifying corrupted data on calendars with client intent

In one embodiment, a host entity may create a trusted connection with a guest entity. The host entity may encrypt a trusted connection invitation for an external guest entity using a proof of possession of a trusted token for the external guest entity. The host entity may transmit the encrypted trusted connection invitation to the external guest entity. A guest entity may decrypt the trusted token, and then use the proof of possession to decrypt the trusted connection invitation.

Establishing secure data transmission using unsecured E-mail

A method using cmdlets in association with a graphical user interface for an application, a command line interface, and a web-based interface for the application includes generating a command which invokes at least one cmdlet. Each cmdlets containing the business logic for the application. The same cmdlets may be invoked from either the GUI, the command line, or the web-based interface. The result is that the task performed by the cmdlet is the same for each interface where each interface is absent business logic.
