An electronic device may comprise a chassis and an ejection mechanism coupled to the chassis. The chassis can house an electronic component and can be removably received within a system chassis of an electronic system. The ejection mechanism may be reversibly configurable between a first state and a second state. When the chassis is in an installed position in the system chassis and in the first state, actuation of an actuatable portion of the ejection mechanism from a first position to a second position moves the chassis from the installed position into an ejected position relative to the system chassis. But when the chassis is in the installed position in the system chassis and in the second state, actuation of the actuatable portion of the ejection mechanism from the first position to the second position does not move the device into the ejected position relative to the system chassis.

A bracket for a printed circuit board assembly (PCA) may comprise a first portion configured to be coupled to a first face of a first printed circuit board (PCB) and a second portion configured to be coupled to a first face of a second PCB. In an assembled state of the PCA, the first and second PCBs are in a stacked arrangement with the respective first faces thereof facing in a first direction. Moreover, in the assembled state, the bracket controls a distance between the respective first faces of the first and second PCBs along the first direction independent of respective thicknesses of the first and second PCBs along the first direction.

One aspect of the instant application provides an apparatus for locking a circuit board in position. The apparatus can include a cam latch, a plunger, and a hinge pin coupling the cam latch and the plunger. The cam latch is positioned to rotate around the hinge pin, and the rotation of the cam latch causes a linear motion of the plunger in a plane parallel to a component-mounting surface of the circuit board, thereby facilitating locking and unlocking of the circuit board.

In one aspect, a bracket assembly comprises a bracket and a pair of rails. The bracket comprises a first portion which includes a first segment with a first opening and a second segment with a second opening. The pair of rails comprises: a first rail which includes a first tab protruding from the first rail and including a first notch; and a second rail which includes a second tab protruding from the second rail and including a second notch. The bracket is to attach to the pair of rails when: the first portion is placed against the ends of the rails such that the first tab is inserted into the first opening and the second tab is inserted into the second opening; and the bracket is slid down such that the first opening rests in the first notch and the second opening rests in the second notch.

One aspect provides an apparatus for locking circuit boards in position between a pair of guide rails. The apparatus can include a slider attached to a sidewall of one guide rail. The slider is allowed to slide along the guide rail within a predetermined range and one or more plunger-and-spring assemblies. A respective plunger-and-spring assembly comprises a plunger and a spring surrounding the plunger, and the plunger is inserted into a through-hole on the sidewall of the guide rail such that a first end of the plunger can be aligned with a notch on a corresponding circuit board and a second end of the plunger is in contact with the slider. Sliding of the slider causes the spring to compress and decompress and the first end of the plunger to move in and out of the notch on the circuit board, thereby facilitating locking and unlocking of the circuit board.

Example implementations relate to a cable management arm for a computing system. The cable management arm includes a pair of latches, a pair of first bars, and a second bar. The pair of latches is detachably connectable to a chassis of the computing system. Each first bar has a first end pivotably connected to a respective latch of the pair of latches, and a second end connected to the second bar for defining an open space therebetween. The open space provides a non-interfering entrance for accessing the one or more electronic components from rear side of the chassis. The second bar supports the cables connected to the one or more electronic components. The pair of first bars is pivotable relative to the pair of latches such that the second bar is movable to a plurality of preset positions for providing the clearance from the cables during service event, for instance.

Cable management arm for a computing system

Examples relate to sliding rail assemblies comprising a first and a second slide rail wherein each slide rail comprises a main body and a guide rail. The main body has an inner surface to attach to an inner surface of the guide rail and an outer surface having an upper, a lower and a middle protrusion along the length of the main body. The upper and the middle protrusions define a dovetail socket and the middle and the lower protrusion define a dovetail. The main bodies of the first and the second slide rails are identical to each other. Each dovetail protrusion of the first slide rail slidably engages a corresponding dovetail protrusion of the second slide rail such that a cavity is formed between the respective guide rails. The upper protrusion of the first slide rail slidably engages the lower protrusion of the second slide rail, the lower protrusion of the first slide rail slidably engages the upper protrusion of the second slide rail and the middle protrusion of the first and second slide rails engages to each other.

Sliding rail assemblies

An exemplary method may include thermally coupling a network of cooling lines to each of a plurality of heat exchangers in a cooling system. The method may also include providing a first connection from a network of cooling lines to a first fluid source and a second connection from the network of cooling lines to a second fluid source for configuring the network of cooling lines in different states. The method may also include delivering cooling fluid through the network of cooling lines to each of the plurality of heat exchangers both when the network of cooling lines is connected only to the first fluid source and when the network of cooling lines is connected to both the first and second fluid sources.

Methods for cooling computers and electronics

A cooler for a memory module includes heat plates on the sides of the memory module and heat fins extending from the top of the heat plates. The heat fins are optimized according to simulated or actual airflow about the memory module inside an enclosure. The heat fins may curve diagonally outward from the memory module and their free ends may be arranged substantially parallel to the airflow so air flows over their larger lateral surfaces down to the memory module.

A method to prevent data loss includes monitoring a vibration from a computer rack and, when the vibration is harmful to a hard disk drive in the computer rack, moving data in transition to the hard disk drive to another hard disk drive, spinning down the hard disk drive, and sending an alarm. The method further includes, after the vibration is no longer harmful to the hard disk drive, spinning up the hard disk drive, moving the data from the other hard disk drive to the hard disk drive, and clearing the alarm and adding an event to an alarm history.

In a cooling system, a variable orifice controls the flow of cooling fluid through a cooling fluid flow path. The variable orifice includes an adjustable diaphragm shutter through which the cooling fluid flows. Upon manipulation of the adjustable diaphragm shutter, a diameter of an opening of the adjustable diaphragm shutter is adjusted to control the flow of the cooling fluid.

In a cooling system, a variable inline nozzle controls the flow of cooling fluid. The variable inline nozzle includes a composite fibrous tube through which the cooling fluid flows. Upon manipulation of the composite fibrous tube, a diameter of a portion of the composite fibrous tube is adjusted to control the flow of the cooling fluid.

An exemplary cooling method may comprise thermally coupling a network of cooling lines to each of a plurality of heat exchangers in a cooling system. The method may also comprise providing a first connection from a network of cooling lines to a first fluid source and a second connection from the network of cooling lines to an optional second fluid source. The method may also comprise delivering cooling fluid through the network of cooling lines to each of the plurality of heat exchangers whether the network of cooling lines is connected only to the first fluid source or to both the first and second fluid sources.

An apparatus in one example comprises at least one heat exchanger mounted within a rack-mount equipment bay and at least one duct coupled with the at least one heat exchanger that is configured to form a semi-closed cooling loop with at least one electronic device mounted within the rack-mount equipment bay. The at least one duct directs an airflow between the at least one heat exchanger and the at least one electronic device for cooling of the at least one electronic device.
