A device for selection and engagement of the gears of a gearbox for motor vehicles has a control shaft mounted rotatable and axially movable with respect to the casing. Mounted on the shaft is a hub having an engagement finger for controlling gear engagement devices, which is configured to oscillate in the space between two fingers of a selection mask, which is mounted on the shaft axially movable therewith and is guided with respect to the casing so as not to follow rotation of the shaft and the hub when a gear is engaged. During displacement of the engagement finger towards an extreme position preliminary to the engagement of the reverse gear, the selection mask is forced to move temporarily into a rotated position, wherein it actuates one or more of the selector devices of the forward gears to enable silent engagement of the reverse gear.

Device for selection and engagement of the gears of a gearbox for motor vehicles

A gear change device for a motor vehicle has a braking member for stopping a rotation of a primary shaft before engagement of a reverse gear. The braking member includes a lever pivotally mounted on a gearbox about a separate axis with respect to axes of the primary and secondary shafts of the gear change device. The braking lever is controlled by an electrically-driven actuator by a pusher member displaceable by the actuator in a direction substantially tangential with respect to the primary shaft, towards an operative position in which it interposes with a wedge-like action between the braking lever and a fixed abutment wall, so as to press the brake pad against a cooperating part which is connected in rotation with the primary shaft.

Motor-vehicle hybrid propulsion system including a double-clutch transmission with gear shift device comprising a rotary drum

A rotary drum for a gear control device for a motor-vehicle gearbox is provided. The drum is rotatable about a rotation axis and includes two guide channels on a cylindrical lateral surface of the drum arranged to guide in a slidable manner at least one follower member. The rotary movement of the drum about the rotation axis is converted into translatory movement of said at least one follower member. A series of positioning notches are provided on the cylindrical lateral surface of the drum and spaced apart angularly along a circumference of the drum for snap-engagement by a stop member associated with the drum. The positioning notches are axially interposed between the two guide channels. Two rings of radial through-holes are provided on the cylindrical lateral surface of the drum, each axially interposed between the positioning notches and a respective guide channel.

The propulsion system includes an internal combustion engine, an electric machine and a double-clutch transmission with a clutch unit and a mechanical gearbox. The gearbox has two coaxial primary shafts intended to be torsionally connected each to a shaft of the internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle by a respective friction clutch of the clutch unit, as well as a secondary shaft and a lay shaft arranged parallel to the two primary shafts. The electric machine is permanently kinematically connected to either of the two primary shafts via a first gear train including a pinion mounted on an output shaft of the electric machine, an intermediate gearwheel mounted on an intermediate shaft and a gearwheel mounted on the primary shaft and acting as driving gearwheel of a second gear train of the gearbox associated to one of the gears, in particular to the second forward gear. The gearbox further includes a casing and the electric machine is inserted and fixed into a seat formed by that casing. An outer surface of a stator of the electric machine forms a spiral-shaped profile which serves as cooling circuit for the electric machine and is closed on the radially outer side by an inner cylindrical surface of the seat, in such a manner that the channels of the cooling circuit are defined between the spiral-shaped profile and the inner cylindrical surface.

A hybrid propulsion system for a motor vehicle includes a gearbox having a gear control device and first and second shafts. The gear control device includes a first drum control device associated with the first shaft, a second drum control device associated with the second shaft and an actuation unit arranged to bring about rotation of the first and second drum control devices in a synchronized manner. The actuation unit includes a motor device, a first gear associated with the first drum control device, a second gear associated with the second drum control device, and an intermediate gear. A method of mounting a first drum and a second drum of a double-drum sequential gear control device for a motor-vehicle gearbox in a predefined relative angular position, wherein in a mounted condition the first drum and the second drum are rotatably arranged about respective rotation axes parallel to but not coincident with each other, includes forming a first positioning hole in a first position of the first drum, forming a second positioning hole in a second position of the second drum, arranging the first drum and the second drum in the predefined relative angular position, locking the first drum and the second drum in the predefined relative angular position by engaging the first positioning hole and the second positioning hole with a locking device, and unlocking the first drum and the second drum once mounting of the gear control device is completed.

Method for the mounting, in the correct relative angular position, of a pair of rotary drums of a double-drum sequential gear control device for a motor-vehicle gearbox

A gear change device for a motor vehicle includes a first and a second primary shaft coaxial with respect to each other, selectively connectable to the driving shaft of the motor vehicle, and a first and a second secondary shaft, whose axes are parallel and spaced from the common axis of said primary shafts. A fifth shaft is parallel and spaced with respect to the common axis of the two primary shafts and with respect to the axes of the two secondary shafts. A parking gear wheel is connected in rotation with the further pinion and cooperates with a locking device in a parking condition. The parking gear wheel is mounted freely rotatable around the axis of the fifth shaft. The parking gear wheel extends radially towards the first secondary shaft within the space between the first reverse gear wheel and a rolling bearing which rotatably supports the first secondary shaft. The bearing is axially interposed between the first reverse gear wheel and the output pinion of the first secondary shaft.

A gearbox includes two coaxial primary shafts carrying fixed gearwheels acting as driving gearwheels of the gear trains associated with the forward gears and with the reverse gear, a secondary shaft carrying idle gearwheels acting as driven or intermediate gearwheels of the gear trains associated with the forward gears and with the reverse gear and a lay shaft, and a lay shaft carrying a fixed gearwheel acting as parking gearwheel. Gearbox for a motor-vehicle double clutch transmission

The gearbox comprises a case, a stationary rod supported by the case, a gear selector fork mounted slidably on the stationary rod and an end-of-travel bush mounted on the stationary rod so as to provide an axial abutment surface for the gear selector fork. The gear selector fork includes a sheet-metal body forming integrally a pair of support plates each having a respective guide through-hole. One of the guide through-holes is provided with a guide bush formed by means of overmoulding of low-friction plastic and is guided along the stationary rod. The other guide through-hole has no guide bush and is guided along a smaller-diameter portion of the end-of-travel bush.

The gearbox comprises a case, a rod mounted on the case, a pair of sliding shift forks mounted on the rod, and travel-limit elements arranged on the rod for defining travel-limit positions for the shift forks. The travel-limit elements comprise a pair of bushes which are separate from the rod and have each a first axially outer larger-diameter portion and a second axially inner smaller-diameter portion so as to define at least one axial abutment surface for the shift fork adjacent thereto.

The gear selector fork comprises a body forming a pair of support plates having respective coaxial through-holes for supporting the fork slidably along a stationary rod of the gearbox, a pair of prongs fixed to the body and forming at their distal ends respective actuating portions able to operate a sliding coupling sleeve of the gearbox, and an actuating nose fixed to the body so as to impart to the fork the sliding movement along the stationary rod for engagement of the desired gear. The body and the prongs are formed so as to allow two forks with identical body and prongs to be mounted on the same stationary rod being superimposed at least partially in the direction of sliding along the stationary rod. The prongs are welded to one of the support plates of the body and extend on the same side as the zone where they are welded to the body, relative to the axis of the through-holes.

Gear selector fork for a motor vehicle gearbox

The gearbox comprises a pair of coaxial input shafts, that is, an inner input shaft and an outer input shaft, a first, upper output shaft, a second, lower output shaft, and an intermediate shaft. A driven gearwheel for a fourth gear and a driven gearwheel for a reverse gear are idly mounted on the opposite ends of the upper output shaft, the driven gearwheel meshing with an intermediate gearwheel idly mounted on the intermediate shaft. A driven gearwheel for a sixth gear and a driven gearwheel for a first gear are idly mounted on opposite ends of the lower output shaft. A first driving gearwheel is drivingly connected for rotation with the outer input shaft at an end thereof and meshes both with the driven gearwheel for the fourth gear and with the third driven gearwheel for the sixth gear. A second driving gearwheel meshing with the driven gearwheel for the first gear and a third driving gearwheel meshing with the intermediate gearwheel are drivingly connected for rotation with the inner input shaft at the opposite end thereof. The third driving gearwheel, the driven gearwheel for the reverse gear and the intermediate gearwheel are straight gearwheels.

Gearbox with six or more forward gears for single-clutch or twin-clutch motor-vehicle transmissions

The device comprises four shift forks, each slidable among a first engagement position, a second engagement position and an intermediate neutral position between the two engagement positions, and an operating unit comprising four double-acting hydraulic actuators identical to each other and arranged to control each the displacement of a respective shift fork among the two engagement positions and the neutral position. The operating unit further comprises a support plate having holes for fixing to the gear case, and an actuator block accommodating the hydraulic actuators. The support plate and the actuator block are integrated to form a single body. In the assembled condition of the operating unit on the gear case, the actuator block is disposed on the side of the support plate facing towards the inside of the gear case.

Servo-assisted gearshift control device for a motor-vehicle dual-clutch transmission

The electro-hydraulic control system comprises a gear shift control device and a hydraulic control circuit. The gear shift control device includes four shift forks, operatively associated each to a respective engagement sleeve of the transmission to cause this latter to move between first and second engagement positions, and an operating unit comprising four double-acting hydraulic actuators arranged to control each the displacement of a respective shift fork. The hydraulic control circuit comprises a supply unit, a distributor valve adapted to select every time one of the four hydraulic actuators and two solenoid valves adapted to control the hydraulic actuator selected by the distributor valve. The distributor valve has four operating positions, each of which corresponds to the selection of a respective hydraulic actuator. The two solenoid valves are arranged to be connected each to a respective pressure chamber of the hydraulic actuator selected by the distributor valve.
