Layered articles for applying color on a surface including a sheet of visually-perceivable color effects, a bonding agent capable of bonding the sheet to the surface, and a releasable liner removably attached to the sheet. The article further includes a substance, agent or barrier that prevents or, at the least, reduces the transfer of an extraneous agent from the surface to a location in the layered article that would affect the visually-perceivable color effect conveyed by the sheet.

This invention relates to ink-receptive coating compositions and to articles containing a layer formed from such coating compositions. In one embodiment, the articles comprise a polymer film substrate and an ink-receptive layer on the upper surface of the polymer film substrate. In another embodiment, the article also comprises an adhesive layer on the bottom surface of the polymer film substrate. The articles may have a print image on the upper surface of the ink-receptive layer, and such print images exhibit improved performance when exposed to extreme environments such as high temperatures, water, solvents and abrasion.

This invention relates to an inkjet substrate comprising a polymeric core having a first and second surface, an inkjet coating on the first surface and a metallized layer covering at least a portion of the second surface. The invention also relates to support substrates that are adhered to the inkjet substrate. Additionally the invention relates to methods of making the inkjet substrate and methods of using the same. The present invention provides a metallic appearance to ordinary inkjet printing to provide unique and special print effects. These substrates are useful for printing paper substrates, greeting cards, and novelties, such as buttons and magnets, binders, labels, index products, etc.
