According to discontinuous reception (DRX), data communication by a communication device occurs at periodic intervals. Between those periodic intervals, the communication device may enter a low-power state. Due to this periodic communication of data, some data may be delayed. Such a delay may be undesirable in various instances. Thus, an apparatus may be configured to determine that the apparatus is scheduled to transition from a first power state to a second power state in association with a DRX cycle. The second power state may be lower than the first power state. The apparatus may be further configured to determine that the first power state of the apparatus is to be extended. The apparatus may be configured to autonomously extend the first power state through transmission of a transaction based on the determination that the first power state of the apparatus is to be extended.

Extending DRX operation in a high-power state

An example method of rendering a webpage includes generating a first serialized eventual document object model (DOM) based on processing a first Web document referenced by a location. The first serialized eventual DOM includes first in-lined dynamic content. The method also includes generating a second serialized eventual DOM based on processing a second Web document referenced by the location. The second serialized eventual DOM includes second in-lined dynamic content. The method further includes generating a common serialized eventual DOM based on a difference between the first and second serialized eventual DOMs. The common serialized eventual DOM includes static dynamic content included in the first and second serialized eventual DOMs, and the difference is true dynamic content. The method also includes rendering the common serialized eventual DOM to a display of a device.

Systems and methods for modem control based on feedback are disclosed. In one embodiment, a modem observer module is associated with software within a computing device. The modem observer receives information from the modem relating to uplink bandwidth availability and/or network conditions that may impact uplink bandwidth. Based on the uplink bandwidth availability at the modem, the modem observer may throttle or limit the number of connections that are active by the applications.

Techniques of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) packet transmission for wireless communication are provided for a user equipment (UE). The UE receives a plurality of TCP packets on a downlink channel from a network. In response, the UE generates a plurality of TCP Acknowledgment (ACK) packets corresponding to the plurality of received TCP packets. The plurality of TCP ACK packets is prioritized based on certain criteria. A TCK ACK packet with a highest priority among the plurality of TCP ACK packets is selected. The selected highest priority TCP ACK packet is then sent to the network on an uplink channel.
