A method for detecting and providing information representative of particulate emissions of a braking system of a vehicle involves acquiring, by a portable electronic device, identification data of the vehicle entered by a driver, acquiring, by a plurality of sensors, driving data of the vehicle, storing in a memory module, by a data processing module, the acquired driving data as a first time series of points, sending to a remote computer the driving data, and performing a first processing of the received driving data to determine a representation of the driving data as a second time series of points. The method further involves determining a value of a first physical magnitude and a value of a second physical magnitude of the braking system, determining one or more values representative of the particulate emission and providing the driver with the determined one or more values representative of the particulate emission.

Method and system for detecting and providing information representative of particulate emissions due to the use of a braking system of a vehicle

A method for controlling deceleration of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a braking system having a braking actuation lever, a braking actuator, and at least one braking device. The method involves measuring a current lever position of the braking actuation lever and a current lever speed of the braking actuation lever, dynamically mapping the current lever position and the current lever speed, processing a deceleration curve as a function of the dynamic mapping, and decelerating the vehicle according to the deceleration curve for each current lever position measured in a lever stroke.

A method and device for detecting and providing braking assessment information indicative of a particulate emission from a vehicle braking system involves determining, upon a braking event, one or more physical quantities related to the particulate emission caused by the braking event based on detection of at least one physical quantity detected from the one or more physical quantities performed by respective detection means provided in the vehicle. The method and device may also include calculating, by an algorithm or mathematical assessment model, stored and executable in a computer, at least one braking assessment index, based on the one or more determined physical quantities. The braking assessment index being representative of a particulate emission amount by the vehicle braking system upon the braking event, and providing a user with braking assessment information related to the calculated braking assessment index, by a user interface.

A system for monitoring a brake disc of a braking system of a vehicle may have at least one source of an electromagnetic quantity having a set space-time pattern such as to interact with the brake disc in a manner dependent on the properties of the brake disc generating a respective variable signal. At least one sensor for detecting such variable signal may also be provided. The at least one detection sensor may face a set limited portion of an investigation surface of the brake disc. The set limited portion of the investigation surface being at least one set closed path that can be defined on the investigation surface of the brake disc. The detected variable signal being able to be analysed to determine at least one parameter of the brake disc based on a deviation of the time pattern of the detected variable signal with respect to a set reference time pattern.

An electronic system for controlling traction and braking of a vehicle is described. The system includes a device for actuating braking operatively connected to at least one first wheel of the vehicle, and at least one first traction and braking control unit. The device comprises: at least one first electric actuator and at least one electric motor. The at least one first traction and braking control unit being configured to control the at least one electric motor in regeneration mode to exert a regenerative braking torque on at least one first wheel. The at least one first traction and braking control unit also being configured to control the at least one electric motor in traction mode to exert a traction torque on the at least one first wheel.
