A gas turbine engine valve assembly having an oil shut-off valve and a compensating valve fluidly connected thereto. The compensating valve, in a first position, restricts access to a pressure-reducing oil flow path leading to an oil reservoir, and in a second position, provides access to the pressure-reducing oil flow path. The pressure-reducing oil flow path is defined by fluid flow between housing apertures, a laminar hole and an orifice. The valve assembly is operable between a first configuration, wherein the oil shut-off valve is in a fluid transfer position and a piston of the compensating valve is in a closed position to direct oil toward the engine component, and a second configuration, wherein the oil shut-off valve is in the shut-off position and the piston is in a open position to direct oil toward the oil reservoir via the pressure-reducing oil flow path.

A system and method for physical connection of components in a graphical modeling environment. For each component, a physical component subsystem is built by providing at least one functional block representative of a mathematical model of the component, associating one or more first unidirectional internal input ports and/or one or more first unidirectional internal output ports with the at least one functional block, and associating one or more second unidirectional internal input ports and/or one or more second unidirectional internal output ports with the at least one functional block, the physical component subsystem configured to receive first information from an upstream block through each first internal input port, output second information to a downstream block through each first internal output port, receive third information from the downstream block through each second internal input port, and output fourth information to the upstream block through each second internal output port.

Physical connection of network components in a graphical computer environment with one-way signal propagation

Modeling of a physical system encompassing a plurality of physical domains and comprising a multi-domain physical component participating in a process of a first and at least a second physical domain is provided. A first block representing the multi-domain physical component in a first hierarchical level modeling the first physical domain and at least one second block representing the first block in at least one second hierarchical level modeling the at least second physical domain are provided in a hierarchically-arranged block diagram model representative of the physical system. The at least one second block is connected to at least one of one or more third blocks provided at the at least one second hierarchical level and receives first information therefrom and is linked to the first block for transmitting the first information to the first block and transmitting second information from the first block to the third blocks.

System and method for multi-domain graphical modeling

The method for testing the integrity of a seal of a cavity in an engine includes providing a sealed test tank external to the cavity, the test tank having an internal volume that is particularly selected, as described herein. A pressure differential is generated between the test tank and the cavity, by creating an initial test pressure within the test tank that is different than an ambient pressure inside the cavity. Gas flow between the test tank and the cavity is then permitted, and a change in pressure within the test tank is measured, as is a test time required for the pressure inside the test tank to reach a reference pressure. The measured test time is compared with a predetermined reference time, and the integrity of the seal may be confirmed when the test time is greater than or equal to the reference time.
