Disclosed is an extruding press () for billets and tubes, comprising a press frame () which is composed of a cylinder-type bar () and an opposite bar () that is connected thereto. A movable running bar () and a movable receiving device () are disposed within said press frame (), the receiving device () displacing a block () that is introduced with the aid of a charging apparatus and is to be pressed in front of the opposite bar () encompassing a matrix. A multifunctional robot () which can be moved on a linear guide (), acts independently of the movements of the press, and is equipped with a receptacle head () is assigned to the press frame.

Extruding press for billets and tubes

A metal extrusion press has a pair of fixed crossheads spaced along a press axis from each other and a plurality of elongated upper and lower members extending axially between and rigidly connected to the crossheads. Each member includes a rod axially tensioned between the crossheads and a beam axially compressed between the crossheads. A movable crosshead is between the fixed crossheads, and a container is between the movable crosshead and one of the fixed crossheads. Respective crosshead and container guide units support the movable crosshead and container on the members and engage around the members. Rollers are engaged between each of the guide units and the members.

Extruding and pipe press

A frame-like traveling beam carrying a hollow press ram of a metal extrusion press and in which a traverse carrying a piercing mandrel is guided, has the side walls of that traveling beam progressively reduced toward a midpoint from each end along the guide path of the traverse. Surprisingly that reduces the spread of the side walls under load and limits the degree to which the mandrel may be guided eccentrically.
