A voltage supply system that includes a first power supply branch and a second power supply branch. Both branches includes a voltage supply; a serially connected diode and switch connected between the voltage supply and an output of the voltage supply system; and a gate driver connected to the first switch to control operation of the switch. The system also includes a voltage monitor/controller configured to perform a built-in test of the system by controlling the state of the first and second switches by controlling enable signals provided to the first and second gate drivers.

System and method for input power detection of two power sources using single monitoring circuit

A DC to AC converter includes an input configured to receive a DC input voltage, an output and two serially connected capacitors connected across the output. The two serially connected capacitors including a first capacitor and a second capacitor connected together at a connection node. The converter also includes a first parallel converter connected between the input and the connection node and a second parallel converter connected between the input and the connection and in parallel with the first parallel converter. The converter also includes a controller that selectively connects the first and second parallel converters to the input based on a first duty cycle (D) and second duty cycle (D), respectively. The controller determines Dbased on comparing a desired alternating current signal across the second first to a measured alternating current signal across the first capacitor such that Dvaries over time.

DC to AC converter with magnitude based on duty ratio

A buck-boost power converting system includes a voltage source input for connecting a voltage source for power conversion. A plurality of switches are connected electrically to the voltage source input, wherein each switch is connected to a controller configured for control of the switches. A voltage output is configured to connect to a load to power the load with converted power from the voltage source input, wherein the controller is configured to provide positive voltage or negative voltage at a desired level to the voltage output, as needed.

A single input dual output buck-boost power conversion system includes a voltage source input for connecting a voltage source for power conversion. According to an aspect, a power supply is provided. The power supply includes a plurality of voltage converters including a first voltage converter and one or more other voltage converters. The power supply also includes a power supply control configured to perform a plurality of operations including enabling the first voltage converter during a start-up mode of operation, monitoring and regulating an output of the first voltage converter, reconfiguring the power supply control to enable the one or more other voltage converters based on determining that the output of the first voltage converter meets a regulation threshold, and transitioning from the start-up mode of operation to a regular mode of operation based on enabling the one or more other voltage converters to output one or more regulated voltages by the power supply.

Multi-output power supply with dual power-on control

An aircraft power system includes a front-end power converter and a back-end power converter. The front-end power converter is configured to generate a first direct current (DC) supply voltage or a second DC supply voltage based on a voltage level of an alternating current (AC) supply voltage output from an AC voltage source. The backend power converter sub-system is configured to convert the first DC supply voltage or the second DC supply voltage into a backend supply voltage. An active power distribution system is configured to select different electrical paths between the front-end converter and the backend converter subsystem in response to detecting output of the first DC supply voltage and the second DC supply voltage.

Universal platform architecture for hybrid more electric aircraft

A method and system for controlling a three-phase drive connected to a three phase power source. The method includes connecting a converter to transfer power from the power source to a first direct current (DC) bus, where the converter and the first DC bus each have a neutral common point (NCP). Connecting a second DC bus to the first DC bus and configuring an inverter connected to the second DC bus to draw power from the second DC bus to provide a plurality of motor signals, the inverter having an inverter NCP. The method also includes connecting a neutral point selection device to the first DC bus NCP and selectively connecting to the converter NCP or the inverter NCP, the bus selection device configured to disconnect the converter NCP or the inverter NCP from the first DC bus NCP under selected conditions.
