An embodiment may involve a computational instance disposed within a remote network management platform. The computational instance may contain queues and facilitate the execution of applications. Communication between the computational instance and a managed network may involve: (i) selecting, by a particular application, a particular output queue; (ii) writing, by the particular application, a unit of work generated by the particular application to the particular output queue; (iii) providing, by particular output queue, the unit of work to a particular proxy server application; (iv) retrieving, by a particular input queue, a result from the particular proxy server application, where the result represents an outcome of the particular proxy server application carrying out the unit of work, and where the particular input queue is associated with the particular output queue; and (v) retrieving, by the particular application, the result from the particular input queue.

Distributed queueing in a remote network management architecture

A system and method are disclosed for adapting audio notifications associated with events in a managed network. The system may include a database for storing speech-characteristics parameters for mapping event characteristics to speech characteristics. The server device may receive a message indicating occurrence of a network event. The message may be processed to designate a particular user for notification of the event, and to determine a text message associated with the event, as well as specific event characteristics of the event. Specific speech characteristics for an audio recording of synthesized speech of the text message may be determined by mapping the specific event characteristics to user-specific parameters of the particular user. The audio recording of the synthesized speech may be generated according to the specific speech characteristics using a text-to-speech engine, and then transmitted to a client device of the particular user for playout according to the specific speech characteristics.

Adaptable audio notifications

An embodiment may involve proxy server applications within a managed network, and a computational instance disposed within a remote network management platform. The computational instance may contain queues and facilitate the execution of applications. Communication between the computational instance and managed network may involve: (i) selecting, by a particular application, a particular output queue; (ii) writing, by the particular application, a unit of work generated by the particular application to the particular output queue; (iii) retrieving, by a particular proxy server application, the unit of work; (iv) carrying out, by the particular proxy server application, the unit of work; (v) writing, by the particular proxy server application, a result to a particular input queue, where the result represents an outcome of carrying out the unit of work; and (vi) retrieving, by the particular application, the result from the particular input queue.

A method and device for managing E-tree services in an MPLS network having domains comprising network nodes and links, wherein the network is adapted to accommodate an E-tree structure formed by the network nodes for a specific E-tree service. The E-tree structure comprises a root point communicating with a number of leaf points, so that any network node of the E-tree structure is connected via its ports to links leading to a root point and/or a leaf point of said structure. The method comprises: marking ports of a specific node associated with links leading only to leaf points of the structure while marking differently ports of a specific node, associated with links leading to the root point; marking ports of a specific node connected to incoming or outgoing links of the same domain, and ensuring that traffic will not be returned thereby creating network loops.

Method for managing E-tree services in MPLS networks

A method is disclosed for provisioning loop free H-VPLS traffic service in a multi-domain MPLS network having interconnected domains. The method comprises: provisioning pseudo wires (PWs) for MPTMP services in each domain of the MPLS network; defining multiple Split Horizon Groups (SHGs) in the network, wherein each SHG corresponds to a domain, for the H-VPLS service traffic and for each specific node of the MPLS network, automatically assigning indications to SHG and the pseudo wires connected to the specific node, wherein the same indication is assigned to all pseudo wires belonging to the same group (SHG-N), and wherein the step of assigning is characterized in that when traffic belonging to H-VPLS service crosses a border network node located between two interconnected domains, the SHG-N indication of PWs remains the same within a VPLS domain thereby preventing the service traffic from returning to the domain of origin.

Method of provisioning H-VPLS services in a multi-domain MPLS network

A method of managing a communication network, using a multi-layer management system having at least two management layers each comprising one or more elements, which elements serving as managing entities and/or managed objects. The method comprises performing a network operation simulation at a selected management level of the system, by one or more selected managing entities, while, at the time of the simulation, comprises interrupting management communication between the one or more selected managing entities and elements in an underlying management layer.
