A system is provided for retractably deploying traction of a wheel. The system includes a set of grippers, each gripper having a cleat and a radially disposed strut. The system further includes a set of first poles, each first pole coupled to one of the struts, the first pole configured to support motion of its corresponding strut between a parked position and an engaged position, wherein, in the engaged position, the corresponding cleat is axially disposed and engaged against the tread of the wheel and, in the parked position, the corresponding cleat is disengaged from the tread of the wheel. The system includes a first faceplate configured to rotate with the wheel. The system further includes a cleat deployment mechanism having a second faceplate rotatably coupled to the first faceplate, and a set of second poles, each second pole coupled to one of the struts and to the second faceplate.

Retractable traction system

A system is provided for retractably deploying enhanced traction of a wheel having a tread and an axis of rotation. The system includes a set of grippers, each gripper having a cleat and a radially disposed strut. The system further includes a set of strut mounts, each strut mount coupled to one of the struts, the strut mount configured to support motion of its corresponding strut between a parked position and an engaged position, wherein, in the engaged position of such strut, the corresponding cleat is axially disposed and engaged against the tread of the wheel and, in the parked position of such strut, the corresponding cleat is disengaged from the tread of the wheel. The system further includes a cleat deployment mechanism, coupled to the struts, configured on actuation to cause automatic deployment of the struts into the engaged position.

A method of providing advertising to a user or community of users over a network includes receiving from the user a query identifying a contemplated route, accessing a computer database of self-reported business information from vendors, each vendor having an identified geographic location, wherein the self-reported business information has been previously supplied by the vendors through an interface and stored in the database, wherein the interface is configured so that each vendor can also specify an advertising budget, providing to the user or community information from the database concerning the business information of a set of vendors extracted from the database on the basis of geographic proximity to the route identified by the user, and providing to the user or community advertising from the set of vendors based, at least in part, on data retrieved from the database and on advertising budgets supplied by the set of vendors.

Apparatus and methods for providing route-based advertising and vendor-reported business information over a network

A method of providing advertising to a user over a network includes receiving from the user a query identifying a contemplated route, accessing a computer database of self-reported business information from vendors, each vendor having an identified geographic location, wherein the self-reported business information has been previously supplied by the vendors through a vendor interface and stored in the database, providing to the user, over the network, information from the database concerning the business information of a set of vendors extracted from the database on the basis of geographic proximity to the route identified by the user, providing to the user, over the network in response to the query, advertising from the set of vendors based, at least in part, on data retrieved from the database, and pricing the advertising based, at least in part, on distance of each vendor's geographic location from the contemplated route.

A method of providing information about vendors to a user includes receiving from the user a query identifying a contemplated route, providing a computer database of self-reported business information from the vendors, each vendor having an identified geographic location, and providing to the user, via a server accessible over a network, information from the database concerning the business information of a set of vendors extracted from the database on the basis of geographic proximity to the route identified by the user.

A prosthesis for male sexual aid comprises a semi-rigid sleeve of thermoplastic material and two straps of elastomeric material. The sleeve has a cutout along its whole length and shaped outside in three portions: a head, a shaft, and a base. A base portion is slanted about the cutout toward the shaft portion. The first strap is secured by both ends to the base portion of the sleeve in a location that is opposite to the cutout. The second strap is an O-ring and secured to the shaft portion of the sleeve embracing the last. In usage, a penis is inserted into the sleeve, the first strap is pulled under the scrotum, the second strap holds the penis inside the sleeve. The first strap being under a fulcrum of rotation of the prosthesis will pull it into a &ldquo;flaccid&rdquo; position doing it invisible to an observer when a user is dressed. A moment before a sexual intercourse the user give lift to the prosthesis by his hand. Now, the first strap is above the fulcrum and pulls the prosthesis into the &ldquo;erected&rdquo; position. Thus, the user can be comfortably prepared way before a foreseen sexual intercourse. The easy switch from one position to another is achieved by the right interconnection between a slant angle of the base portion of the sleeve and the location of the point where the first strap is secured to the sleeve.
