In some examples, an electronic device for mounting in a chassis includes a housing to be received in the chassis, and a mechanical intrusion indication segment to move from a retracted position to an extended position responsive to mounting of the housing in the electronic device. The mechanical intrusion indication segment when in the extended position is to break upon removal of the housing from the chassis. A controller is to detect an intrusion of the electronic device in response to breaking of the mechanical intrusion indication segment.

In accordance with these and other embodiments of the present disclosure, an information handling system may include a processor and a basic input/output system (BIOS) including a program of instructions. The BIOS may be configured to, when read and executed by the processor, calculate a binding secret for binding a cryptoprocessor to a motherboard of the information handling system, the binding secret based on unique identifying information of both the cryptoprocessor and the motherboard, store the binding secret in a non-volatile memory integral to the cryptoprocessor, and validate binding of the cryptoprocessor to the motherboard by comparing a subsequently-calculated binding secret to the binding secret.

A system and method migrating virtualized environments is disclosed. According to an aspect of the disclosure, the information handling system can include a migration monitor configured to initiate migration of a remote virtualized environment operating on a first remote system. The information handling system can also include a trusted platform module including a local memory storing a plurality of access keys configured to enable use of a plurality of virtualized environments. According to an aspect, the plurality of access keys can include a first access key configured to be used with a first remote system. The information handling system can also include a secure communication channel configured to enable a mapping of the first access key to a second remote system upon the migration monitoring determining the second remote system is capable of satisfying an operating characteristic of the remote virtualized environment.

System and method of migrating virtualized environments

A system and method is disclosed for extending the BIOS Boot Specification. The specification is extended to accommodate the identification of a greater number of bootable devices. The specification is also extended so that the identifier for each bootable device identifies the default boot order of the device. The specification is also extended to provide additional information about the type of each bootable device and whether each bootable device is an onboard or add-in device. The extension of the BIOS Boot Specification also allows for the designation of certain entries as placeholders for devices that that are supported by the computer system, but not present in the computer system.

For dynamically adjusting a color code corresponding to a task performed by an input/output (I/O) port, a retasking request for the I/O port is received. The retasking request may be generated in response to detecting a plugging in of a multimedia device into the I/O port. The retasking request includes switching the task from a first task to a second task. In response to the retasking request the task performed by the I/O port is automatically reconfigured from the first task to the second task. The color code is automatically changed from a first color code corresponding to the first task to a second color code corresponding to the second task in response to the reconfiguring, without user intervention.
