The present invention relates to the use of a multi-layered sheet material () comprising a reinforcing member (), having a polymer coating () at least on one side, preferably on both sides, wherein the reinforcing member () comprises at least one backing fabric () made of warp threads () and weft threads (), and wherein the sheet material () comprises at least one channel () extending through the sheet material (), and wherein the warp and weft threads () are woven together such that the backing fabric () comprises both single layer fabric regions () and at least one at least two-layered fabric region having at least two fabric layers (), which are not joined together, so that the channel () is each formed between the fabric layers (), as a bellows wall () of a crossway bellows (), a crossway element comprising such a sheet material for the protection of a passageway of two vehicle parts or components, which are connected together movably relative to each other, against external influences, as well as a vehicle, a flight passenger bridge or staircase and a building connection comprising such a crossway element.

The subject of this invention is a sheet of material for the manufacture of a folding wall of a transition between two articulated vehicle units, as well as the folding wall of a passenger boarding bridge or passenger stairs, wherein the sheet material has at least one reinforcement element, with the reinforcement element is coated on both sides with a plastic layer, wherein the at least one reinforcement element has on one side a coating based on a silicone rubber and on the other side a coating based on an organic rubber.
