The present embodiments relate to a measuring apparatus and an associated measurement method. The measuring apparatus is installed on a line and includes a sensing unit having a first and a second voltage divider for producing a first and a second measurement signal with a measurement transducer. The first and second measurement signals are each forwardable via a measurement line directly to a signal transducer. The signal transducer is supplied with power via a supply line by being switchably connected to the measurement transducer.

A device connectable to a three-phase network, wherein the device includes a capacitor, a secondary coil, a diode and, per phase, a conductor and a circuit, where a secondary-side coil is connected in parallel to the capacitor via the diode, the circuit is configured such that a resistor is located in a conductor, a first capacitor is connected parallel to the resistor, a serial circuit of a first primary-side coil is connected in parallel to the first capacitor, energy transfer occurs from a first primary-side coil to a second primary-side coil and to the secondary-side coil, a second capacitor is connected in parallel to the second primary-side coil, the second capacitor is connected to the source connection of a self-conducting field effect transistor, and the gate connection of the self-conducting field effect transistor is connected to the second capacitor to provide an improved internal power supply for the device.

In one embodiment of the present invention, a rotary encoding switch is disclosed such as used in the function setting for relays or similar. In one embodiment, a particularly secure function setting for relays or similar may be achieved by means of a rotary encoding switch with a number of switch stages with separations between the switch stages which are not constant.

A simple and low-cost electronic function relay is specified, for example an overload relay with a bistable printed circuit board relay module. The relay includes an engagement point for mechanical operation. The relay further includes a separate reset mechanism, which can be coupled to the printed circuit board relay module, and a switching lever, which corresponds with the engagement point, for manual resetting of the printed circuit board relay module to a switched-on position.
