A level radar device with adaptive, angle-dependent transmission power adjustment, which calculates the maximum permissible transmission power of the transmitted signal on the basis of the radiation direction of the transmitted signal and the radiation characteristic of an antenna.

Described and shown is a device for measuring the distance to an object, including at least two freely radiating transmitter units for transmitting an electromagnetic measuring signal, at least one receiver unit for receiving a reflection signal reflected on the object, and at least one evaluation unit. The at least one receiver unit forwards the received reflection signal to the at least one evaluation unit. The transmitter units and the at least one receiver unit are arranged within one measuring environment. The transmitter units and the at least one receiver unit have at least one common measuring frequency range. The operation of the transmitter units is coordinated so that the measuring signals transmitted by the transmitter units and the reflection signals resulting from the measuring signals can be differentiated from one another.

Device for measuring the distance to an object

A method for monitoring the operability of a fill level sensor acting as a FMCW radar device in which the frequency of a radar signal to be sent from the fill sensor during measurement of a fill level of a medium is modulated with a set of pre-settable measuring parameters and a measured value of the fill level determined from at least one received signal received during measurement of the fill level. The method enables simple automatic monitoring of the operability of a fill level sensor acting as a FMCW radar device in that, during a test phase, the frequency of the radar signal to be sent is modulated with at least one set of pre-settable test parameters and a test measured value is determined from at least one test received signal received during the test phase, which is evaluated to establish the operability of the fill level sensor.

A microwave transmitting device for a level measuring device () having an electronic device, a microwave emitter and a waveguide (). The inside of the waveguide is filled with a casting compound. A microwave transmitting device that is particularly compact and cost-effective is implemented by the microwave emitter and the electronic device being enclosed by a casting formed of a casting/potting compound.

A level measuring system which operates according to the radar principle for measuring the level of a medium which is located in a vessel has a signal transmission apparatus for emission of an electromagnetic signal, an electronic apparatus which generates an electromagnetic signal, and a pressure-tight and/or diffusion-tight separating element. The electronic apparatus is made in several parts, one of which is a signal generating component. The signal generating component and another component of the electronic apparatus are made as independent units which are spatially separated from one another. There is a communication apparatus between the signal generating component and the other component, and there is a pressure-tight and/or diffusion-tight separating element between the other component and the signal transmission apparatus.

A float for displaying the fill level of a medium () in a container (), wherein the float (), in the intended use, is guided by the wall of the container () and is suitable for reflecting electromagnetic waves emitted from a transmitter () toward a receiver (). The float has improved electromagnetic wave reflecting characteristics regardless of whether or not the float is tilted in that, in the intended use, at least the end of the float facing the transmitter () is a reflector () for reflecting electromagnetic waves to the receiver () and that a field attenuation structure () is located behind the reflector () from the perspective of the transmitter () in such a manner that electromagnetic waves interacting with the field attenuation structure () are attenuated.

An explosion-proof device with a pressure-proof capsule (), an electronic mechanism () and a signal receiver (), wherein the electronic mechanism () is designed intrinsically safe, the pressure-proof capsule () has a radiolucent process window () and the signal receiver () is arranged inside of the pressure-proof capsule (). An explosion-proof device that can be flexibly used and is economical is implemented in that the electronic device () is arranged within the pressure-proof capsule () and the signal receiver () is designed to be intrinsically safe.

A method for the processing of a frequency signal especially for utilization in the evaluation of a distance measurement by means of pulsed electromagnetic waves or of frequency-modulated continuous waves on the basis of the radar principle. The frequency signal is divided into at least two frequency ranges corresponding to two main components of the frequency signal, the frequency signal in each of the two frequency ranges is then subjected to a separate Fourier transform, the Fourier transform applied to the frequency signal in the first frequency range resulting in a corresponding first complex time signal and the Fourier transform applied to the frequency signal in the other frequency range resulting in a second complex time signal. The second time signal is complex-divided by the first time signal which produces a third time signal, and the third time signal is then subjected to a Fourier transfer, the result being a processed frequency signal.
