In a method and a device for positioning a patient in a medical diagnosis device or therapy device, an image-recording device records an image of the patient, which is displayed on a screen, and an image processor aids the positioning of the patient. At least one body region is automatically detected by the image processor, and a scan area is automatically suggested on the screen that covers the body region.

The invention relates to a method for repositioning a patient in a diagnostic/therapeutic system, as well as to such a system, wherein a repeated, accurate repositioning is achieved by producing difference images from a reference image and a current image, each in two recording axes, which are independent of each other, and by subsequently minimizing the visible differences. The reference images are produced with the same camera setting as the current images.

At least one image recording device is used for obtaining an exterior image of the patient that is displayed on a screen. The target marking that is spatially coupled with the coordinate system of the diagnosis device or therapy device, is superimposed on the image of the patient on the screen such that a predetermined body region of the patient can be brought into a desired spatial correlation with the target marking by remote control movement of the patient bed.

In a CT scanning method and apparatus wherein a radiation source is displaced around a system axis and a ray bundle therefrom strikes a detector system that supplies scan data on the basis whereof two-dimensional scan images of the examination subject are determined in an image calculating device, parameters describing the position of a body part of an examining person situated in the beam path are determined by an analysis of registered scan images, and the radiation source is controlled dependent on the analysis result so that the radiation is reduced when the body part is located in the beam path.
