A stitch forming element for a stitch-forming textile machine, wherein the textile machine includes a stitch-forming element carrier with at least one guide channel for guiding at least one stitch-forming element. The stitch-forming element includes a longitudinal axis and a vertical axis and a first recess with a lower edge, an upper edge, an open first end and a closed second end for stitch formation. The stitch-forming element further includes a second recess with a lower edge, an upper edge, an open first end and a closed second end for cleaning the at least one guide channel. The stitch-forming textile machine includes a stitch-forming element carrier with at least one guide channel, and at least one such stitching element. The least one stitch-forming element with its second recess is guided in the at least one guide channel.

Stitch-forming element and stitch-forming textile machine

A machine knitting tool and in particular a machine knitting needle has a shank extending in the longitudinal direction. The machine knitting tool has a stitch-forming portion directly adjacently to a front end and a drive portion directly adjacently to a rear end. At least in the drive portion, an underside of the shank does not have any indentations or recesses and extends along a plane. The shank in the drive portion forms at least one rib portion with a rib height, which is at most 1.1 mm. In addition, the shank in the drive portion forms at least one support elevation, which extends in the height direction beyond the rib height of the at least one rib portion and has an elevation height at its point of maximum height.

Machine knitting tool, in particular machine knitting needle

A loop-forming process includes moving a plurality of system components () relatively to a needle bed (). The system components () contact threads () for forming loops. At least one spacer () is placed between at least two adjacent system components () of the plurality of system components () and defines the distance () between the two adjacent system components (), the spacer () being in mechanical contact to the two adjacent system components (). The spacer () is placed away from and does not contact threads () and is moved with respect to the needle bed (). The spacer () is also moved with respect to both of the two adjacent system components () at least for a period of time during the loop forming process. An equivalent device is also disclosed and claimed.

Loop-forming method and device

A needle-holding device () suitable in particular as a package comprises a flat needle carrier section () and an adjoining section that has a clamping lip () that is resiliently biased against the needle carrier section (). The clamping lip () reaches around the stitch-forming sections of the needles () which are held lying next to each in contact with each other on the needle carrier section (). The resiliently yielding clamping lip () permits the insertion and the pull-out of one, several or of all the needles ().

Needle-receiving device

A crochet galloon machine needle () in accordance with the invention is provided on its hook outside () with a guide projection () having a tip () that is preferably located above the center axis (A) of the needle (). This needle () has an enlarged weft thread capture range and is thus particularly suitable for the manufacture of dense knitted goods. In addition, said needle enables the operation with reduced take-off tension and, optionally, also with reduced weft thread tension. This helps increase the service life of all system components.

A knitting system () wherein said system causes a rocker guide () to move the holding-down and knock-over sinkeras a function of the longitudinal position of the knitting needle (). Consequently, the pivoting movement of the holding-down and knock-over sinker () is forced to follow the back-and-forth linear movement of the knitting needle (). A single box cam is sufficient for controlling this knitting system (). In any event, it is only necessary to allocate box cams to the knitting needles (). The holding-down and knock-over sinkers () do not require dedicated drives and box cams.

Needle-drive knock-over sinker

A needle cam assembly is provided in a circular knitting machine or a flat-bed knitting machine, said needle cam assembly allowing an adjustment of at least one cam assembly part with respect to at least one other cam assembly part. As a result of this, the timing of the closing and opening of the inside space of the hook of the slider needle can be adjusted relative to the timing of the retraction of the slider needle and can be set as needed. This measure may be utilized to increase the knitting quality and operational safety of a knitting machine that has been loaded with slider needles.

A knitting needle designed specifically for achieving particularly fine divisions, or another knitting tool (), has a narrower working section () and a wider support section (), whereby the support section () is provided with a positioning means (), for example, having the form of a slit () or having the form of a rib (). The knitting tool () is associated with a fixing means () in the form of a projection () or a groove () on the side of the bar (). Due to this measure, the support sections () of the knitting tools () may be arranged&#x2014;in close proximity to each other, in contact with or at a minimal distance from each other&#x2014;on the bar (), so that a maximum cross-section is available for configuring the support section (). This provides strong stability for the knitting tools ()&#x2014;even in cases of extremely fine divisions&#x2014;and, at the same time, provides precise alignment and avoids division errors.

Knitting machine tool, in particular for the finest division

A knitting machine in accordance with the invention includes a thread guide that is associated with a runner. The runner is disposed to hold open the latches of driven out needles of a first group while the needles of a second group are being driven out. Due to the time-staggered driving-out of the latch-type needles and of a first group and a second group, and due to the alternating arrangement of the needles of the first group and the second group, a rising of the knit fabric while the needles are being driven out is prevented without the assistance of holding-down/knock-over sinkers. Inasmuch as a runner that is separate from the thread guide is used for holding open the latches, the position of said runner can be optimally adjusted independent of the position of the thread guide.

A latch-type needle that is particularly suitable for knitting machines that work without sinkers includes a latch that preferably carries on its outermost end a cam or extension, the cam or extension is provided with a sliding surface. The sliding surface may move along a complementary sliding or runner surface and temporarily prevent the latch from pivoting out of its open position, for example. A corresponding wear of material is concentrated on the sliding surface. A damage, deformation or impairment of other parts of the spoon or latch head, in particular of either of its edges, is prevented.

For longitudinal shifting, a needle in accordance with the invention is provided with a longitudinal slitthat is disposed to accommodate a bearing element (), for example, having the form of a strip (). Whereas known needles are set in a guide channel and thus are held or guided between two guide flanks, the needle in accordance with the invention extends around a strip () and is guided on said strip. Thus, the needle is guided on two surfaces of the guide element () and the strip (), respectively, said surfaces facing away from each other. The support section () and the bearing element () form a highly precise positioning or guide device.

Internally guided needle

Proposed is a sinker () provided with a region () of reduced thickness on its working part (). As a result, a clearance space is created on at least one side of the sinker (). This clearance space makes it possible to reduce the distance between the sinker () and the latch needle () or to reduce the wear between these two elements. The clearance space furthermore does not change the distance between the sinker and the latch needle on the other side of the sinker. The sinker () according to the invention preferably has a clearance space on both sides, so that this sinker can be used in circular knitting machines which are designed for both rotational directions.

A sinker set comprising a coulier sinker () and a plush sinker (). The sinkers () can be moved together in a direction transverse to a knitting needle (). The sinkers have spaced apart edges for the accommodation of stitches. In order to adjust the distance between these edges, the sinkers () can be moved relative toward each other in the driving-out direction of the needle. To do so, they have spaced apart guiding edges () that are in contact with various support surfaces or guiding surfaces ().

The cutting needle () according to the invention is, for example, a latch needle and has a knife element () secured to the shank (). The knife element () defines a cutting edge () which projects obliquely upward from the shank. The knife element () is arranged externally of the range of motion of the latch () and cuts open a loop situated on the shank when it is overdriven outward. The knife element () is made, for example, of a suitable spring steel and is held unremovably on the shank ().

Cutting needle

A system component (), such as, for example a knitting machine needle (), intended for a loop-forming machine has in its foot () at least one cutout () that is set up to accommodate a section of a holder (). This holder can be clipped into the cutout in order to hold several such system components in a pre-specified sequence and at a lateral distance and in alignment with respect to each other. The systems components, which are thus temporarily connected to each other, can be handled as a unit and, in this manner, can be removed from the bed (), can be treated, for example be cleaned, and can be replaced in the same sequence and alignment in the bed ().
