A cutting tool for radial and axial recessing and for lateral motion for so-called grooving of primarily metallic materials, having a clamping holder and a cutting element base, fastened to the clamping holder, on which a cutting element rests, the cutting element being pressed onto the cutting element base by a clamping finger of a clamping claw, and the cutting element being guided on the cutting element base with a prism.

Cutting tool for recessing and grooving

A cutting tool system comprising a carrier tool, a cutting plate having a clamping recess and a clamping element with an associated clamping bolt, wherein on the underside of the clamping element, which underside faces the cutting plate, an engagement element is arranged that is in clamping contact with the clamping recess in the engaged state and thereby anchors the cutting plate, and the clamping element is guided via a chamfer in such a manner that when tightening the clamping bolt, the clamping element is pulled in the clamping direction.

The invention relates to a ready-to-use ceramic blanking die (), which is produced by sintering a blank, as an indexable insert, comprising an upper face and a lower face () which each have a support surface () for installation in a tool holder of a cutting tool, lateral surfaces () that connect the upper and lower faces (), and cutting edges () for machining workpieces. In order to least partly avoid a finishing machining step after sintering at, utilize the advantages of the finish-pressed/final-sintered contact surfaces between the blanking die and the tool and assure optimal contact of the blanking die to prevent vibrations and the attendant micro-chipping/wear, a peripheral face () is arranged adjacent to the cutting edges () and the face () circumscribes the support surface (), wherein the lateral surfaces (), the cutting edges () and the faces () consist of the sinter skin created during sintering and have not been damaged by a material-removing machining process, and only the support surface () underwent a material-removing machine process and does not consist of the sinter skin created during sintering.
