A device for damping vibrations in a structure including a first (or inner) element rotatably mounted around a rotational axis and a second (or outer) element rotatably mounted around said rotational axis. A radius (R) of a circle portion delimitating the first element with respect to the rotational axis, being smaller than a radius (r) of a circle portion delimitating the second element with respect to the rotational axis.

Device for damping vibrations in a structure

A damping device for damping vibrations of a bridge with a bridge deck comprises at least one damping wing comprising a center and configured to dampen vibrations of the bridge. A longitudinal direction of the at least one damping wing is disposed parallel to a longitudinal direction of the bridge deck and the at least one damping wing is stationary upon wind acting on the bridge in a given direction. At least one support structure is laterally attached to at least one side of the bridge deck and configured to attach the at least one damping wing to the bridge deck such that the at least one damping wing is disposed with a lateral offset from an outer edge of the bridge deck facing the at least one damping wing.

Device for damping vibrations of a bridge

The invention relates to a device for vibration control of a structure having&#x2014;two mass bodies (), each of which is rotatably mounted around a rotational axis (), wherein both rotational axes extend in the same direction and the center of gravity of each mass body has a spacing (r, r) from the associated rotational axis,&#x2014;a drive that sets each mass body () in a circulating rotational motion,&#x2014;at least one sensor (), which measures a movement or acceleration of the structure (), and&#x2014;a control that, based on the measured movement or acceleration, controls at least one of the following variables:&#x2014;the rotational angle (&#x3c6;, &#x3c6;) of the rotational movement of at least one mass body (),&#x2014;the spacing (a) between the rotational axis () of one mass body () and the rotational axis () of the other mass body ().
