A table unit for seats in vehicles, especially airplane seats, includes a first table element () provided with the functions of a table, and a second table element () provided with at least one other table function. Both table elements () can be rotated relative to each other about a first pivotal axis () by a hinge (), and can be fixed in a predetermined position. Various table functions can be integrated in a single table unit since both table elements () can be rotated about a pivotal axis () by another joint (), and can be fixed in a predetermined position. The possible table surface and position thereof can be varied in such that certain table functions are protected and service personnel can have access to them.

A vehicle seat, especially for aircraft, includes a seat part ( ) and a backrest ( ) displaceable relative to each other by at least one adjustment device ( ). The adjustment device ( ) is provided with a plurality of articulation points ( ) interconnected via a bar-type supporting frame ( ) with individual bar elements ( , and ). The frame raises and supports the seat part ( ) relative to the vehicle or cabin floor and effects a displacement movement by an actuator ( ). The seat part ( ) can be brought from an initial position ( ) into at least one further position (II, III) and back. Depending on the number of articulation points and bar elements of the frame, the number of possible movements and the degree of freedom of movement of the seat part is substantially higher than in known systems. The seat part and the backrest can be safely positioned within a very wide range of adjustable positions.

Vehicle seat, especially for aircraft

A plane passenger seat has a storage compartment for a life vest and upholstery elements that improve the sitting comfort. The storage compartment is made up of at least one upholstery element. The life vest is received by the corresponding upholstery element as an integral part thereof. In this manner, the corresponding upholstery is replaced by the life vest so that the weight of the seat is reduced compared to conventional seats, thereby allowing potentially higher load capacities.
