The present invention relates to a transition arrangement comprising two surface-mountable waveguide parts and a dielectric carrier material with a metallization and a ground plane provided on a respective first main side and second main side Surface-mountable waveguide parts comprise a first wall, a second wall, and a third wall, which second and third walls are arranged to contact a part of the metallization, all the walls together essentially forming a U-shape, the surface-mountable waveguide parts also comprising respective bend parts. The metallization on the first main side is removed such that a first aperture and a second aperture are formed, the apertures being enclosed by a frame of via holes electrically connecting the ground plane with the metallization, the bend parts being fitted such that the apertures permit passage of a microwave signal propagating via the bend parts. Then the dielectric carrier material itself acts as a waveguide transition between the first aperture and the second aperture.

An antenna feed device () having a first waveguide () and a second waveguide () separated from the first waveguide (), each of which is assigned to feed one polarization of a dedicated antenna and each of said waveguides exhibit an overall L-shape form where at least one section of the L-shape of each waveguide is in parallel to the other, both having respectively a first () and a second () antenna end ending in one plane for connection to an ortho-mode transducer associated with the antenna, while the other sections of the two L-shape waveguides extend in opposite directions, having respectively a first () and a second () radio end, each of which ends with a single waveguide port for connection to a radio equipment and the waveguides arrangement yields an overall compact T-shape interconnection of the antenna and the radios dedicated to the orthogonal polarizations.

Waveguide junction

A junction for connecting two waveguides having substantially a 90-degree angular offset between longitudinal symmetry axes of their cross-sections. The junction has a first interface and a second interface for connecting the waveguides, and at least a first transformer section and a second transformer section, both having cross-sections of substantially rectangular shape, and both having the 90-degree angular offset between longitudinal symmetry axes of their cross-sections. The first and second transformer sections are connected such that a T-shape connection is formed and the first transformer section has a first protruded ridge on its broad wall and the second transformer section has a second protruded ridge on its broad wall. The broad wall with the second ridge is connected to the top narrow wall of the first transformer section and the ridges are located such that they overlap.

The configuration facilitates manufacture in two halves by simple machining or casting.

A polarization filter for a high frequency wave guided in a waveguide has an entry section in which wave types that are orthogonally polarized in relation to one another are capable of propagating. The filter also comprises two first exit sections which extend along the length of the entry section, which are separated by a septum, and which are provided for a first wave type. In addition, the filter has two second exit sections which laterally extend in the plane of the septum, which are provided for the second wave type, and which are configured as coaxial conductors.

A junction for orthogonally oriented waveguides including a transformation stage which has a first oblong opening for connecting a first waveguide which is designed to carry a first ground wave type, and a second oblong opening for connecting a second waveguide which is designed to carry a second ground wave type. The first oblong opening and the second oblong opening are oriented orthogonally with respect to each other. The transformation stage has an essentially right-angled geometry with a height, a width and a depth, where the height and the width are chosen such that both the first ground wave type and the second ground wave type are propagated in the transformation stage.

Junction for orthogonally oriented waveguides

A waveguide switch having a stator and an electrically conducting movable element, the stator having waveguide paths between waveguide terminal pairs, each path being switchable to conducting or nonconducting with the help of the movable element for high-frequency waves. To permit lower requirements regarding manufacturing tolerances, the movable element is designed as a septum in a gap in the stator and extends in the waveguide path, which is switched to nonconducting, in parallel to its E plane. This divides the waveguide path into two partial waveguides, which run in parallel with one another and, in comparison with the switched-to-conducting state of the waveguide path, have smaller cut-off wavelengths.

Waveguide switch

A waveguide adapter is arranged between a rectangular waveguide with a single cross-section and an elliptical waveguide which allows for the propagation of a fundamental wave type and higher wave types. The adapter includes a longitudinal channel which allows for the propagation of higher types of waves at least on one part of the length thereof and consists of various stages with different cross-sections. The adapter also has waveguide gates which are used to couple higher waves of the elliptical waveguide. The stages of the waveguide adapter in which the higher wave types are propagated have an elliptical cross-section.
