A hearing instrument has a hearing device rear housing, at least one microphone, a receiver, an earpiece connection or a soundc tube, an earpiece, a power supply unit, and a signal processing unit. The power supply unit includes a rechargeable power supply and an actuating and control device. The hearing instrument further includes a switching device that is configured to assume at least two switching states, and the actuating and control device is configured to actuate a switched-off state of the hearing instrument depending on the switching state of the switching device. There is also described a corresponding power supply unit for a hearing instrument.

The aim 1s to make operation of hearing device apparatuses more convenient. A method is proposed for operating a hearing device apparatus by a user by presenting a first acoustic signal by the hearing device apparatus as originating from a first virtual position and by presenting a second acoustic signal by the hearing device apparatus as originating from a second virtual position. In this connection the first acoustic signal represents a first adjustment option of the hearing device apparatus and the second acoustic signal a second adjustment option. The body part of the user is moved toward the first or second virtual position and a position or movement of the body part of the user is detected. Finally the detected position or movement of the body part is automatically allocated to the first or second virtual position, whereby the adjustment option corresponding to the allocated virtual position is chosen.

In one aspect, a programmable hearing apparatus is provided to allow a convenient programming of the hearing apparatus with minimal effort. To this end, programming data is stored in a transponder. The object of the invention is to enable a hearing apparatus and more particularly a hearing device to be controlled automatically in a more reliable manner by means of an external device. For that purpose there is provided in the hearing apparatus a transponder detection unit for detecting a transponder and providing a corresponding detection signal. Signal processing in the hearing apparatus is performed as a function of the detection signal. An external device, e.g. a telephone is physically joined to the transponder. This enables the hearing apparatus to detect the presence of the external device and control its own signal processing accordingly.

A hearing aid device has a shell that fits into the upper part of the concha of the outer ear of a hearing-impaired person, and connecting element that is held in the concha of the outer ear and terminates in an ear piece in the ear canal. A hearing aid can be inserted deep inside an auditory canal without the risk of injury. The hearing system has a hearing device that can be completely inserted into a human auditory canal, and a positioning device, which is attached to the hearing device in a self-retaining manner. The positioning device can be detached from the hearing device, when the latter is in the state where it is inserted into the auditory canal, and cannot or can only partly be inserted into the auditory canal because it serves as a stop on a section of the concha when the hearing device is being positioned. The positioning device is decoupled from the hearing device after placement and removed from the auditory canal.

For particularly good adaptation to a given hearing situation, an in-the-ear hearing device which has a housing with a channel in the housing that is designed as a through-opening for sound and air between the interior of the ear and the environment outside the ear, the channel is provided with a structural element for changing the size of the through-opening at at least one position. The structural element is a valve formed with electroactive material and the size of the through-opening is adjusted by application of a voltage to the valve.

The components of a hearing apparatus and in particular of a hearing device are to be better protected against environmental influences. A hearing apparatus is thus provided with at least one acoustic converter, e.g. receiver, in a converter housing for receiving or outputting a sound, with a sound opening in the converter housing, through which or by which a sound is received or output respectively, being sealed with an airtight membrane. A pressure equalization facility is connected to the converter housing or is integrated onto the converter housing, so that the pressures on both sides of the membrane can be equalized.

The invention relates to a hearing aid device and a method for manufacturing the hearing aid device. The hearing aid device comprises a housing having an inner surface. The housing has an electrical component therein. A conductive layer is attached on at least a portion of the inner surface of the housing. The invention is aimed at enabling a hearing system, particularly a binaural hearing aid system, to be controlled in an easy manner, taking into account the small amount of installation space available. A hearing system is provided comprising a first hearing device and a second hearing device. The first hearing device has a permanent magnet. The second hearing device has a magnetic field sensor such that the second hearing device is controlled in a predetermined manner when the first hearing device is located in close physical proximity to the second hearing device and consequently the magnetic field sensor detects the magnetic field of the permanent magnet or a corresponding magnetic flux. The sensor signal is used in particular for switching off the second hearing device. The first hearing device preferably possesses a mirrored structure so that it is controlled or switched when it is brought closer to the second hearing device.

Changing batteries in hearing apparatuses worn in the auditory canal is to be designed in a more user-friendly manner. To this end, a hearing apparatus is provided with a first component which can be worn in the auditory canal, said component comprising a receiver unit for the wireless reception of signals. The hearing apparatus also exhibits a second component which is separated from the first component in terms of design, said second component likewise being able to be worn in the auditory canal and a transmitter unit for the wireless transmission of signals and/or energy to the receiver unit of the first component. The first component can be designed to be battery-less. The second component, which is positioned further outside in the auditory canal, can be easily removed from the auditory canal in order to change the battery.
