A rechargeable battery unit and method for charging a battery is provided. The battery unit can be connected to a constant current charging device for charging the battery unit. The constant current charging device has a plurality of poles and a cut-off voltage. The battery unit has an internal resistance, a lithium battery cell having a predetermined end-of-charge voltage, and a switch unit. The switch unit is configured to enable alteration of the internal resistance when the predetermined end-of-charge voltage has been reached, such that the voltage at the poles of the constant current charging device is greater than the cut-off voltage of the constant current charging device to terminate the charging process.

Rechargeable battery unit and charging method

A lighting strip for an aircraft interior is provided. The lighting strip has a connection for a network voltage, a rectifier for rectifying the network voltage into a power supply voltage, and a circuit board extending along a longitudinal extension of the lighting strip. Multiple LEDs are arranged on the circuit board and powered by the power supply voltage. A controllable current sink arrangement, having multiple individual sink devices connected electrically in parallel with one another, is provided for converting electrical energy transported via the connection into heat. The individual sink devices are distributed on the circuit board along the longitudinal extension of the circuit board. The sink devices are controlled by a control apparatus independently from the operative conditions of the LEDs to provide a homogenously distributed thermal profile of the lighting strip.

An electrical supply apparatus is provided. The apparatus has an input for connecting the electrical supply apparatus to a power supply system, an output for connecting the electrical supply apparatus to a load, a rectifier for rectifying the input voltage into a rectified input voltage, and a PFC module for smoothing the rectified input voltage. The PFC module also has an active power factor correction device for shaping a time-dependent supply current, such that a time-dependent input current into the PFC module is matched to a time-dependent current waveform signal. A control module is provided for generating the current waveform signal. The control module generates the current waveform signal during the operation of the electrical supply apparatus independently of the input voltage and temporally synchronizes the current waveform signal with the input voltage or a derivative of the input voltage.

An LED lighting apparatus is provided. The apparatus has an LED luminous unit having multiple plurality LEDs and a switching arrangement. The LED luminous unit has different forward voltages in different switching states. The apparatus also has a control device for driving the LED luminous unit and a current sink device in a normal operating mode, in which the forward voltage and the LED current of the LED luminous unit are adapted to an instantaneous value of a supply voltage. An energy storage module of the apparatus provides a storage voltage and supplies the storage voltage to the LED luminous unit. The control device drives the LED luminous unit and the current sink device in a storage operating mode, such that the forward voltage and the LED current of the LED luminous unit are adapted to an instantaneous value of the storage voltage.

In comparison with thermal light sources, LED lighting has the advantage that it is very small and at the same time commercially available in different colors, so that colored lighting can be produced inexpensively and at the same time in a manner that saves installation space. It is an object of the present invention to equip an LED lighting apparatus with a color mixing functionality that is distinguished by high efficiency and at the same time a small number of components.

An LED lighting device for AC voltage supply is provided. The device has LEDs that are divided into multiple LED part groups. A supply voltage is provided to the device. The LED part groups provides a plurality of LED strands each formed by a certain number of LED part groups arranged in series with each other. The device has shorting links each for bridging one of the LED part groups in an LED strand. The device also has a control means for controlling the shorting links to place the LED strands in at least two switch states. The through voltages of the LED strands are different, when the LED strands are in the switch states, respectively.

An LED lighting device for supplying a main voltage by an AC power supply is provided. The device has a rectifier for producing a rectified AC voltage from the main voltage, an LED light unit having multiple of LEDs and a circuit arrangement, and a control device for controlling the circuit arrangement. The circuit arrangement switches the LEDs to different circuit states, in which the LED light unit has different forward voltages. The control device controls the circuit arrangement, in such a way that the forward voltage of the LED light unit is adjusted to the voltage profile of the rectified AC voltage. The device also has a modelling device for modelling a modelled voltage profile. The control device controls the circuit states based on the modelled voltage profile. The modelled voltage profile is modelled based on measured variables for describing the real voltage profile of the main voltage.

An LED lighting device for AC voltage supply is provided. The device has LEDs that form a whole chain. The LEDs are divided into LED part groups. The device also has multiple serial switching means, multiple shorting links and a control means. The control means is configured to control the shorting links and the serial switching means, to place the whole chain in at least two switch states. The switch states differ in the through voltage of the whole chain.
