Cup made of paper material having a fillable interior space formed by a shell and a base. The base via a skirt at the lower end of the interior space is fastened in a substantially liquid-tight manner to the shell, and a lower periphery of the skirt forms a footprint for the cup. The cup has an external shell composed of a planar blank of paper or paper-like material. Longitudinal edges of the blank are connected to one another in an overlap region so that the external shell forms a sleeve. The external shell has a frustoconical shape having a first cone angle and, except for the overlap region, from the predefined spacing to the lower end is configured in a single ply. The shell, from the predefined spacing to the lower end, at least in portions tapers more heavily than in the region above the predefined spacing.

Cup made of paper or paper-like material

A double-walled cup and a process for production of the cup are described. The cup includes an inner cup and a tube-shaped outer sleeve, which is formed from a blank of paper material joined at its ends. The tube-shaped outer sleeve is slid axially onto a prefabricated inner sleeve and secured. The tube-shaped outer sleeve is formed from a flat blank by joining the ends of the blank before being slid on, whereby the ends of the blank are joined by an adhesive applied to a limited area of the outer sleeve. The ends of the blank are joined by a thermoplastic material in the form of an adhesive, which for example can be a hot-melt adhesive or a sealing varnish.

Double-walled cup

An apparatus for producing containers from paper or paper-like material. The container has a lateral surface made of a wound sheet-like segment, of which segment edges arranged on longitudinal sides overlap and form a region of overlap, and a pan-like termination element. The lateral surface and the termination element are connected to one another in an essentially liquid-tight manner by a skirt, and at least one pressing ram is provided for pressing and sealing the skirt, the pressing ram subjecting the skirt to essentially radially directed pressure. The pressing ram has a radially projecting protrusion in a portion provided for the purpose of acting on a boundary portion of the region of overlap of the lateral surface of the skirt.

Apparatus and method for producing containers from paper material or paper-like material, and container

A device for forming a peripheral edge of a cup blank made of paper material, having at least one forming tool, wherein the forming tool is arranged on a tool carrier which is arranged so as to be rotatable about a rotation axis, wherein the rotation axis coincides with a longitudinal centre axis of the cup blank inserted into the device. The forming tool and the tool carrier are configured and arranged so as to travel along a profile, deviating from a circular shape, of the peripheral edge of the cup blank.

Method for manufacturing a cup from a conical sleeve and a pot-shaped base. The base has a base face and a circumferential wall starting from the base face and inserted from a large opening in the conical sleeve into the sleeve in the direction of a small opening in the sleeve. The method includes: partially covering a radially outer circumferential face of the wall of the pot-shaped base with an annular covering sleeve, positioning the covering sleeve together with the base in the direction of the small opening in the sleeve until the predefined relative position between the sleeve and the base is reached, pulling out the covering sleeve between an inner side of the sleeve and the radially outer circumferential face of the base, the base remaining in the predefined relative position, and connecting the radially outer circumferential face of the base and the inner side of the sleeve in an essentially fluid-tight manner.

Method and device for manufacturing a cup

A cup made of a paper material having a fillable interior, which cup is formed by a conical sleeve and a bottom. The bottom is attached to the sleeve at the lower end of the interior with a bottom skirt in an essentially liquid-tight way. The sleeve and/or the bottom in the area of the bottom skirt and/or the bottom skirt itself comprises, at least in one area along the periphery, an outwardly projecting widening. A lower edge of the widening forms a standing surface for the cup. The widening can serve to hold another cup of the same type, and can act together with a similar cup during stacking. The cup can include a heat insulating outer sleeve.

A method for fabricating a funnel, a tool for carrying out the method, and a funnel of flat material, more particularly of plastic-coated paper. A receptacle for a pulverulent and/or liquid medium includes a funnel disposed in a pouring or discharging region. A blank of flat material is shaped to a funnel-shaped sleeve having an outlet opening, an inlet opening, and an opening angle, and the funnel-shaped sleeve is swaged in at least one subregion to effect enlargement of the opening angle.

An apparatus for manufacturing a sleeve for a paper cup and/or a paper cup comprises a machine frame and at least two star wheels, which are rotatably connected with the machine frame and which can be rotated in synchronized cycles. A first star wheel comprises a number of conical mandrels, on each of which one sleeve made of a flat-lying blank can be formed. The star wheels are positioned in one plane and are arranged to a vertical wall of the machine frame with horizontal rotary axes. The star wheels can be connected to at least one drive, whereby the drive is arranged on the side of the machine frame wall facing away from the star wheels.

Method for manufacturing a conical sleeve and/or a paper cup

A method for producing a cup from a flat segment and a pot-like base, including the steps of winding the flat segment onto a winding mandrel, so that there is an overlap in the region of the side edges of the segment, connecting the sections, which adjoin the side edges, in the region of the overlap, so that a conical sleeve is produced, inserting the pot-like base into the conical sleeve, and connecting a circumferential wall of the pot-like base in a substantially liquid-tight manner to an inner face of the sleeve.

Folding mandrel, device and method for manufacturing glued sleeves. The invention relates to a folding mandrel for a device for manufacturing glued sleeves, in particular paper sleeves for the manufacture of paper cups, where the folding mandrel is provided for winding of a plane segment and is so dimensioned that in the wound-on state of the segment an overlap containing adhesive is obtained. In accordance with the invention, the folding mandrel is provided with at least one recess for receiving any adhesive escaping from the overlap.
